I cannot remember a time when Sidney Crosby was not tearing up the NHL. He has been in the league since 2005 and is a generational talent.

Crosby is a veteran and approaching 500 goals, a milestone that only 45 players have achieved. The big question is, when will Sidney Crosby score his 500th goal?

Sidney Crosby’s 500th Goal Predictions

Crosby only has 12 goals this season in the 34 games he has played this season. This is largely because he plays limited minutes. He is 34 years old and plays less than 12 minutes a game.

Crosby’s last goal came against the Los Angeles Kings two games ago. Before that goal, it had been three games since his most recent goal. Other than the hat trick he scored against the Columbus Blue Jackets in January, he has not been scoring much.

The Penguins’ next game is against the Boston Bruins. The Bruins only allow 2.77 goals per game, so it is not very likely he will score two goals. That leads us to the Ottawa Senators. The Senators are not having a great season and allow 3.38 goals per game, so I expect Crosby to score one goal in this game.

Crosby will be itching to score his 500th goal, so he will be looking for more scoring opportunities after he scored 499. He will face the lowly New Jersey Devils after the Senators. The Devils are one of the worst teams in the league and do not have any great goalies. However, no team wants to be on the receiving end of a player’s 500th goal. I firmly believe the Devils will hold him off from scoring.

This takes us to a home game against the Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers are in a similar position to the Devils and have slightly better goaltenders. Even so, Sidney Crosby will score his 500th goal against them. He will find a way to put a puck in the back of the net.
