Spread: Michigan State -1.5
Moneyline: Kansas State +100 / Michigan State -120
Total: 137.5
Kansas State looked like they were in trouble on Sunday as they fended off a #6 Kentucky team that dominated them down low. They were outrebounded 25-44 and gave up a whopping 19 offensive rebounds. Not many teams can survive that, but the Wildcats made up for it by making 48.1% of their shots. They were fourth in the Big 12 in rebounding this season (35.4), so don’t expect another poor-rebounding performance on Thursday.
The Spartans shocked the country by beating #2 Marquette on Sunday. They led the entire first half and held off a second-half rally from the Golden Eagles to win 69-60. Don’t forget about their first-round win over a #10 USC team many people liked. Michigan State used solid shooting and aggressive defense to control the game's tempo in both wins. If they can do that on Thursday, expect to see them in the Elite 8.
Kansas State’s Markquis Nowell led the charge and finished the game with 27 points, nine assists, and three steals. He has made over 50% of his shots in both of their NCAA Tournament games, making him our player to watch against Michigan State.
Best Bet: Kansas State +100
As well as the Spartans have played, the Wildcats are the better team and will get the win. Bookmakers are concerned about rebounding, but the Wildcats have done better in the regular season than they’ve shown. Plus, no chance we bet against Markquis Nowll right now.
Spread: UConn -2.5 (-120) / Arkansas +3.5 (-102)
Moneyline: UConn -182 / Arkansas +150
Total: 139.5
The UConn Huskies have been among the most impressive teams in an NCAA Tournament filled with chaos. They dominated a good #13 Iona team that had the size to test them down low. The Huskies would shoot Iona off the floor by making 44% of their threes and grabbing 14 offensive rebounds. They didn’t cool off against a great #5 St. Mary’s team making 54% of their shots from the field and 45.5% from three. They again dominated on the boards, finishing with nine more than the Gaels and winning by 15 points.
Arkansas entered the tournament with many experts believing they were better than their #8 seed. Next, the Razorbacks blew up many people's brackets by beating #1 Kansas 72-71. They have proven that by using their size to dominate down low in both games. It’s not something they could do much in the SEC, but their experience playing a demanding schedule has clearly paid off. If the Razorbacks want a spot in the Elite 8, they will need to continue to dominate down low and find a way to slow down the shooting of the red-hot Huskies.
UConn’s Adama Sanogo has been one of the best players in the tournament so far, highlighted by his combined 47 points and 24 rebounds through their first two games. He’s been dominant but will now face an Arkansas team with the size and talent to slow him down. Sanogo has been a big reason for the Huskies' success, so his ability to fight down low will be the difference in this game.
Best Bet: UConn -2.5
UConn has been playing some of the best basketball in the country over the last month. Arkansas' size could present a challenge, but UConns efficient shoot will let them pull away in the second half to cover the spread easily.

I am a huge sports fan; locally, many know me as the guy who does the PA for our high school football team on Friday nights. Having grown up in Michigan, I am a sports fan of all the Detroit teams, and at the college level, I love Michigan State sports.
