Fucsovics played great in Rotterdam last week, reaching the final as a qualifier but that run may hurt him in Doha. He lost the final on Sunday afternoon and will play this match on Tuesday. He’ll have very little time to adjust from the slow courts in the Netherlands to the conditions here which will be considerably faster. With timing a big part of Fucsovics’ game, that could well play into the hands of his opponent, who holds decent claims at odds of +145.
Lajovic will take plenty of confidence out of last week despite losing in the second round. His one win was against top seed Daniil Medvedev – a career-best in ranking terms.
Having also made the last 16 of last month’s Australian Open, Lajovic’s game is clearly in good shape and he can deliver a winner here.

The conditions in Marseille are some of the slickest on the ATP Tour and there should be plenty of tie-breaks on the Gerflor courts this week. These two server-oriented players look like prime suspects to produce a breaker and +200 about their first set going the distance seems worth a wager.
Tsonga is only just back from a long lay-off so his return game probably isn’t up to speed as yet, while Lopez’s return game has never been a strong point.
Two of the last three matches between these two saw the first-set tie-break, while there’s been a breaker in four of their five contests – Lopez was clearly carrying an injury in the odd one out.

Herbert is another player who will like the speedy courts in Marseille and he looks a big price to upset Nishikori in this match.
Time and again, French layers produce on home soil – seven of the last 15 champions in Marseille have been French – and Herbert has the game to cause his more-famous opponent problems.
The home hope will come forward whenever possible, using his volleying skills honed so well in doubles, a format in which he is a former world number two.
Nishikori, still in the early stages of yet another comeback from injury, will look to build on a quarter-final run in Rotterdam but again it’s worth highlighting the difference in conditions – it will be faster and the desert winds are often a factor here, not an issue in the indoor arenas of Europe.
Nishikori lost all three matches he played in quick conditions in Australia last month and he looks too short in this match-up.
Roberto Bautista Agut is a former champion in Doha and could go well again this year at a tempting price of +1500.
The Spaniard defeated Novak Djokovic during his 2019 title run in Qatar and having recently finished runner-up in Montpellier, has the form to contend in a strong field.
Dominic Thiem is the top seed and favorite but he’s playing for the first time since a disappointing Australian Open and has admitted he doesn’t really know what level his game is at coming into the tournament.
All the talk will be about second favorite Roger Federer, returning to action after more than a year out, but it’s asking a lot for the Swiss to win his first event back.
Bautista Agut can take advantage.
