McCarthy Fields Weak Squad, Wenger Complains
Published by adam | Filed under Football (aka soccer), Miscellaneous
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy fielded a second tier team against Manchester United Tuesday night. 10 starters were benched in an effort to save them for a more manageable victory Sunday with Burnley. ManU ended up thrashing the Wolves 3-0.

So, check out what Arsene Wenger had to say about it…
“We will have to compete with Manchester United over 37 games instead of 38. I believe it is a problem for the international credibility of the Premier League, but it is not my problem, it is a Premier League problem.”
Dear coach, does that mean you have given the title to Chelsea, and you are competing with ManU for 2nd?
Regardless, the Wolves are in the red zone and in jeopardy of delegation. They are do or die. In all fairness the manager has every right to change his lineup. He knows his job is on the line when he makes decisions of this nature. I am not so sure Mick McCarthy is in the business of ruining Premiership credibility. I am willing to bet he is much more involved in winning, or for that matter, trying to win games.
Yes, the coach threw in the towel. Check.
No, McCarthy should not have done this. It has created much more talk than needed.
Yes, Wenger is mad that teams will not throw the towel in his direction.
Other managers should not get involved with others. By commenting, Wenger is making this a bigger deal. Period. Anyways, the Premier League is looking into the matter to see if taking action is necessary. I hope this is unlikely. Nonetheless, fans were complaining “we want our money back” during the game. I must say that is a shitty way of spending £42.

Is he frustrated, celebrating, or you know, just taking a pitchside dump?
