We have a pair of fantastic bets for today’s slate of games. The first one involves the red-hot Arizona Diamondbacks taking on the reeling Reds. The second comes from the Mets vs. Phillies game, where Ranger Suarez will go for his eighth consecutive win.
Below, we will share our favorite bet for both of these matchups. We’ll be using odds from FanDuel Sportsbook, which is currently offering new players a bonus of $150 in Bonus Bets if their initial wager of $5+ wins.

The D-backs and Reds were facing off for the second time in just over a week. Arizona swept Cincinnati on the road, helping launch a hot streak that has turned their disappointing season around. The same cannot be said for the Reds, who started the season 14-10 but have gone 3-14 since. These two teams are trending in different directions, and we see that continuing this afternoon.
Arizona will have Brandon Pfaadt (1-3, 4.60 ERA) starting against the Reds today. The 25-year-old struggled badly to open the season but has regained confidence over the last month. Over his last five starts, the righty has a 3.59 ERA and has held opponents to three or fewer runs in each. We don’t expect a dominant showing from the young pitcher, but he will do enough to support a strong effort from the red-hot D-backs lineup.
The D-backs have struggled with their pitching, but offense has not been an issue. The team is third in the league in runs scored (211) and ninth in batting average (.248). That is terrible news for Reds’ starter Andrew Abbott (2-4, 3.35 ERA), who will be on the mound today. The 24-year-old has been impressive in his second season in the MLB. However, he has only lasted six or more innings just twice.
Given that Abbott has a 4.77 ERA over his previous three starts, an impressive Arizona offense will get the best of him today.

We have been riding with Ranger Suarez (7-0, 1.50 ERA) and aren’t stopping now. As his impressive numbers show, the Phillies starter has been the best pitcher in baseball. While he looked a little shaky against the Giants two weeks ago, the effort still resulted in a quality start. Suarez bounced back in his next start, holding the Marlins scoreless on three hits across seven innings. The 28-year-old has won seven straight starts, and we see that streak continuing tonight.
The Mets continue to disappoint in 2024 despite having the highest payroll in the league. A big reason for that is their struggles at the plate, ranking in the bottom half of the league in runs scored (172) and batting average (.235). Those struggles have sent them toward the bottom of the NL East standings, trailing the Phillies by a whopping ten games.
New York will have veteran Jose Quintana (1-4, 5.44 ERA, 1.55 WHIP) on the mound tonight. After a solid start to the year, he has been hammered in three of his last three starts. He has allowed 18 runs across 20 1/3 innings (8.06 ERA) during that stretch, with his only quality start coming against a bad Cardinals team. Quintana has not faced the Phillies this season but was hammered for eight runs across ten innings in 2023.
