Best MLB Prop Bets 2024 05 15

In recent days, we’ve consistently hit two of our five MLB prop bets but haven’t been able to get over the hump. However, we have a good feeling about Wednesday. We've picked some familiar names, including a couple of well-known Dodgers. When in doubt, target the biggest stars. We're hoping that strategy will pay off on Wednesday. Our odds are from DraftKings Sportsbook, which is offering $200 in bonus bets to new users.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Mets vs. Phillies (6:40 PM, EST)

Ranger Suarez Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-105) at DraftKings

Suarez has been electric this season, going 7-0 in his eight starts. He’s also gone over 5.5 strikeouts in six of those eight starts, which is why we’re surprised to see this number so low. Presumably, the reason is the Mets rank toward the bottom of the league in strikeouts, which is good news for them. But they’ve also been struggling for runs lately. Also, most of their top hitters have a poor track record against Suarez, who’s much better this year than he’s been in past years, which is why we're backing him with this prop bet on Wednesday.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Yankees vs. Twins (7:40 PM, EST)

Juan Soto Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105) at DraftKings

In need of a win, we’re going to go back to Soto, probably not for the last time. His bat has cooled off a little in recent days, but he does have a hit in back-to-back games to get back on track a little. Soto is also 10 for 27 (.370) with three doubles and three home runs in his career against Minnesota starter Pablo Lopez. That's a strong indicator that Soto could get an extra-base hit in Wednesday’s game. Plus, despite his average dipping a little over the last week, he’s a good enough hitter to collect multiple hits on any given day.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Athletics vs. Astros (8:10 PM, EST)

Framber Valdez Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-105) at DraftKings

Not surprisingly, the A’s strike out a lot, ranking third in the majors in that category. That makes them a good team to target against a quality pitcher like Valdez. For what it’s worth, Valdez is yet to go over 6.5 strikeouts in any of his five starts this year. But his track record tells us that he’s capable of reaching a big number. Oakland is the perfect opponent for Valdez to have a dominating outing that includes a high number of strikeouts.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Dodgers vs. Giants (9:45 PM, EST)

Mookie Betts Over 1.5 Total Bases (-110) at DraftKings

With Logan Webb starting for the Giants, it might seem like a bad time to target multiple Dodgers. However, Webb has allowed at least six hits in seven of his last eight starts and at least eight hits in three of those starts. Even in his good outings, he’s allowing a lot of traffic on the base paths. Equally important, Betts is 14 for 33 (.424) with four extra-base hits in his career against Webb. With three straight multi-hit games, including an extra-base hit in all three of those games, we’re going to ride Betts during his hot streak.

Freddie Freeman Over 0.5 RBI (+135) at DraftKings

With Betts likely to get on base, Freeman is the perfect player to target to get an RBI. Much like Betts, he’s had a lot of success against Webb, going 13 for 29 (.448) with four extra-base hits. With Shohei Ohtani batting in front of Freeman, it's even more likely for Freeman to bat with runners on base. The kicker is that Freeman has four hits and three RBI in his last five games, putting him in a good place right now, so we’re confident in backing him for the second straight day.
