On Monday night, the San Francisco Giants will visit the St. Louis Cardinals in a battle of franchises that dominated the National League for much of the 2010s but are struggling in the present day. In this contest, expect the Giants to win on the road as a slight moneyline favorite. With an edge in the pitching department in this contest, San Francisco should get off to a good start that will carry them the rest of the way.
That pitching edge comes in the form of Logan Webb getting the start in this game for the Giants. Webb is just 4-6 this season, but his 3.09 ERA and 85 strikeouts in 84.1 innings of work are proof that wins are not necessarily a stat that should be pinned to pitchers. Webb will continue to pitch well in this game, which will be enough to help the Giants get over the line in St. Louis.
The Cardinals are at home in this game, which may give some bettors pause when betting against them. But the Cardinals have really struggled at home this season, going just 14-21 at Busch Stadium, and squandering any home field advantage they would normally have. That will cause problems against a Giants team sending one of the better arms in the National League to the mound for this contest.

Throughout the 2023 MLB season, Zack Greinke has not pitched up to the level of his name, making him a less-than-stellar value in the MLB betting markets. But Monday night is one of the rare times when Greinke represents great value in the marketplace. When the Royals host the Cincinnati Reds on Monday night, expect the Royals to come away with a win with Greinke on the hill.
Greinke is just 1-6 this season, with a 4.59 ERA to his name in his 66.2 innings of work in 2023. But he is the better pitcher going into this game against the Reds, as he faces a struggling arm in Luke Weaver. Weaver is 1-2 on the season so far for the Reds, with an ERA of 6.27 on the year, and his struggles should help the Royals to get into the win column in this contest on Monday night.
One reason Greinke should have some success in this contest is that the Reds lack power in their batting order. The Reds rank in a tie for 27th in the majors in home runs hit this season, meaning that Greinke should avoid getting dinged with home runs in this matchup. That will help the Royals to pick up a much-needed win, and just their second win of the season as a favorite.

Our final MLB best bet on the Monday MLB slate is for the Miami Marlins to win on the road against the Seattle Mariners. Despite the expectations for both of these teams coming into this season, the Marlins have a much better record than the Mariners this season. They should continue to be the better team in this matchup against Seattle.
So far this season, Luzardo has been a better-starting pitcher than Sandy Alcantara, who won the NL Cy Young award in unanimous fashion last year. To see this year's favorites, check out our NL Cy Young odds article. Luzardo has a 5-4 record on the season and an ERA of 3.79 in 73.2 innings of work. Look for Luzardo to continue to pitch at a high level in this contest to help the Marlins to win this game as a slight underdog on the road.
Miami is an underdog in this contest, but that has not stopped them from having success in 2023. The Marlins are 22-16 as an underdog this year, while the Mariners are 16-25 as a favorite. Expect both teams to continue those trends in the Pacific Northwest on Monday.
