Best MLB Prop Bets 2024 05 13

Monday offers a fresh start for us in making MLB prop bets. We decided to go with an aggressive approach that’s focused on hitters. The hitters we’ve highlighted in today’s props should be familiar names while one of the two pitchers we’ve chosen today we’ve decided to fade. Hopefully, Monday ends up being a big offensive day throughout baseball. Today’s odds are from DraftKings Sportsbook, which is giving new users a chance to collect $200 in bonus bets just for signing up and placing a $5 wager.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Rays vs. Red Sox (7:10 PM, EST)

Rafael Devers Over 1.5 Total Bases (+100) at DraftKings

We haven’t targeted Devers that much this season, although he's quietly putting together a strong season with an .880 OPS. Lately, he's collected a hit in 14 of his last 16 games with six multi-hit games during that span. Devers has also doubled in back-to-back games, which is another reason we’ve targeted him on Monday. Most importantly, he has owned Tampa starter Zach Eflin. Devers is 5 for 11 with two doubles and two home runs in his career against Eflin. Since he’s in a groove already, this favorable matchup should allow Devers to collect multiple bases in Monday's game.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Pirates vs. Brewers (7:40 PM, EST)

Mitch Keller 6+ Hits Allowed (+110) at DraftKings

Keller has long been a pitcher we like to fade. Even the over/under of 4.5 hits allowed wasn’t high enough, so we bumped it up to at least six hits. Keller has allowed at least five hits in all eight of his starts this year, giving up six or more in half of those starts. That means he’s always in the vicinity of six hits. Keller also has dreadful numbers against several members of the Brewers. The entire Milwaukee roster is batting a combined .342 against Keller. The Brew Crew has also had a good run offensively lately, so we think they can pile on the hits against Keller.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Rockies vs. Padres (9:40 PM, EST)

Manny Machado Over 0.5 RBI (+115) at DraftKings

This hasn't been Machado’s best season. But he's still a big bat with an intimidating presence in the middle of San Diego’s lineup. Plus, he still has 22 RBI in 38 games. Against Colorado starter Dakota Hudson, Machado is 5 for 10 with a pair of homers. Keep in mind that Hudson has a 6.35 ERA and also has a poor track record against Xander Bogaerts and Fernando Tatis Jr., who will likely hit in front of Machado, giving him some RBI opportunities in this game against a bad pitcher he’s crushed in the past.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Royals vs. Mariners (9:40 PM, EST)

Brady Singer Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-105) at DraftKings

For Singer, seven strikeouts aren’t that much. Granted, he's hit that number just twice in his eight starts this season. But he’s looked great in his last three starts and is more than capable of missing bats. Most importantly, the Mariners lead the majors in strikeouts, averaging more than 10 per game. Singer has a good track record against most of Seattle’s hitters, a track record that includes plenty of strikeouts. Kansas City’s young ace should be able to take advantage of Seattle’s free-swinging lineup enough to collect seven strikeouts.

Bobby Witt Jr. Over 1.5 Total Bases (-120) at DraftKings

Witt has become one of our favorite hitters to target because he’s averaging an extra-base hit in every other game and is always a candidate to have a multi-hit game. Even if he's not at his best right now, Witt can come alive at any time. He's also 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles in his career against Seattle’s George Kirby. It’s a small sample size but it’s a reminder that Witt is always a threat to collect multiple bases in a game.
