There isn't much that the Kansas City Royals (39-83) can play for the rest of the 2023 MLB Season. The main thing the Royals can do before being officially eliminated from postseason play is to play the spoiler. They have accounted for some big wins and they look to do it one more time to split the four-game series on Thursday at home against the Seattle Mariners (65-55).
The Royals will not come into the game with an edge against the Mariners, but that doesn't mean they are not worth of any value. If their young starting pitcher Angel Zerpa (7.71 ERA in 9.1 innings pitched) delivers three strikeouts, it will give bettors serious earnings.
There are reasons to believe he could accomplish this against a Mariners team that has a few problems at the plate. The Mariners are ranked 14th in the NL in strikeouts encountered (1187), which gives Zerpa some room for success on Thursday.

The New York Mets (55-66) have certainly been one of the most disappointing teams in the league this 2023 MLB Season. Their potential at the plate and at the mound has not lived up to the hype of the team competing for a World Series title. One player for them who hasn't been disappointing is star first baseman Pete Alonso.
On Thursday, Alonso has a chance to give bettors some great earnings with a solid performance at the plate. Alonso has accounted for 92 hits this season.
The Mets are taking on the St. Louis Cardinals (54-67) on Thursday. The Cardinals are 14th in the NL in hits allowed this season (1139). This game will be a great opportunity for Alonso to account for a great game at the plate.

It has been a tough second half of the 2023 MLB Season for the Arizona Diamondbacks (61-60) as they have gone from a serious World Series competitor to a team that might not make the NL Playoffs at the plate. They hope their fortunes will change when they start their four-game road series against the San Diego Padres (58-63), one of the most disappointing teams in the MLB.
The Padres were supposed to have one of the best batting teams this season behind three superstars at the plate. Instead, they are among the bottom half of the NL in some major batting categories. San Diego is ranked seventh in the NL in strikeouts encountered this season (1000).
This game will be a solid opportunity for Diamondbacks' ace pitcher Zac Gallen (3.24 ERA in 155.2 innings pitched) to hold the struggling Padres at the plate with strikeouts. He has delivered 165 strikeouts this season.

The biggest game of the night is set as the Los Angeles Dodgers (73-46) will host the Milwaukee Brewers (65-56) in the final game of a three-game series. The Dodgers are attempting to conclude this season with a sweep over the Brewers.
The Brewers are first in the NL in hits allowed this season (948) and will have ace pitcher Corbin Burnes starting (3.60 ERA in 145 innings pitched). Milwaukee not been a reliable batting team this season, but they have been solid in the pitching game. They haven't been able to accomplish this as the Dodgers have been able to score 13 runs in the first two games of the series.
Dodgers rookie centerfielder James Outman has a great chance to help bettors win some signing earnings by accounting for one hit at the plate. Outman has accounted for 90 hits this season, which is fourth on the team behind Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, and Will Smith.
