The New York Yankees (65-68) are set to go on the road to take on the Detroit Tigers (59-74). The Yankees are looking to make the best of their disastrous season by getting above .500%. A four-game series sweep over the Tigers might give the Yankees momentum before going on the road in a three-game series against the Houston Astros.

The Yankees will go with Clarke Schmidt (4.51 ERA in 129.2 innings pitched) as the starting pitcher against the Tigers. Schmidt has delivered 126 strikeouts this season, which is the second-most on the team.

The Tigers have been consistently one of the worst batting teams in the AL this season as they are in the bottom five of the AL in all major batting categories except for triple-base hits. Detroit ranks 13th in hits (1045), 12th in walks (399) and 11th (1203). It is more than likely Schmidt has one of his best pitching performances this month facing the Tigers.

Miami Marlins vs Washington Nationals

My Pick – Bryan De La Cruz Prop To Account for Over 1.5 Hits (+185 at DraftKings)

The Miami Marlins (66-67) have a series of tough performances that have caused them to fall down the race for the NL Wildcard and below .500%. The Marlins could use some momentum moving forward and they could get it in the batting game. Washington is ranked 14th in the NL in ERA (4.89), 13th in hits allowed (1222), 14th in runs allowed (682), 15th (last) in home runs allowed (202), 12th in walks allowed (482) and 14th in strikeouts delivered (1012).

Marlins left fielder Bryan De La Cruz is the second-best hitter on the team as he has accounted for 123 hits this season. He is only 26 years old, which means there is plenty of opportunity for him to get better.

In nine games against the Nationals, Cruz has accounted for hits in six games with two of them being more than one hit. Cruz has a solid chance to account for multiple hits as the Nationals will have an inexperienced pitcher Joan Adon (5.25 ERA in 24 innings pitched) starting at the mound.

Atlanta Braves vs Los Angeles Dodgers

My Pick – Orlando Garcia Prop To Account for Over 0.5 Hits (-160 at DraftKings)

This Thursday will be the start of one of the best series remaining of the 2023 MLB Season as the Los Angeles Dodgers (83-49) will host the Atlanta Braves (87-45) in a four-game series. This matchup could easily be a preview of the NLCS series in the postseason.

Both teams are going to show why they are among the best-hitting teams in the league in this series. There are going to be many opportunities for people to earn some winnings through solid bets. One of the best and potentially easiest bets is Braves shortstop Orlando Arcia accounting for a hit.

Arcia is not the most powerful batter for Atlanta, but he is among the most consistent. Arcia has accounted for 109 hits, a batting average of .280, and an on-base percentage of .336 and only struck out 79 times. He could be a difference-maker against the Dodgers in the batting game for the Braves just as much as he is in the fielding game.
