While the Rangers' offense continues to be one of the best in the league, we see Hunter Brown (6-4, 3.62 ERA) having a big night for the Astros. The 24-year-old is turning into a nice piece of this Houston rotation, and he has been solid in June. The rookie has three quality starts across four games this month, with an ERA of 3.65. Brown has a 3.21 ERA on the road and a sterling 1.82 ERA across four-day games. He has faced the Rangers once this season, throwing seven innings without allowing an earned run. We expect to see a similar showing tonight.
Another trend we see with Hunter Brown is that his strikeout totals are rising. He has posted seven strikeouts in back-to-back starts and has at least that many in six of his previous eight. It shows that Brown is settling into his role as a member of a big-league rotation, and he will only get better as the season progresses. We see his strikeout totals continuing to climb today as he puts up a hefty total against Texas.

This is our favorite prop bet of the weekend and possibly one of the most valuable. Ronald Acuna Jr (.334 BA, 20 HR, 53 RBI, 37 SB) is the currency-betting favorite to win the NL MVP, and he is swinging the bat as well as he has all season. He owns a .347 batting average in June and has had plenty of multi-hit games. Acuna has had more than one hit in three of his last five games, including last night in the series opener. We have seen the 25-year-old get hot like this several times this season, so we are riding the hot streak to a solid prop bet win today.
Acuna will have a tough matchup on the mount tonight with Eury Perez (5-1, 1.34 ERA) on the mound for Miami. The 20-year-old has been incredible in his rookie season, but he will be tested today by Acuna and the Braves. It is a classic matchup of an immovable object versus an unstoppable force, but the Braves star’s experience will give him the edge today. We see him tagging Perez for one hit and then getting a second against the Miami bullpen.

Few pitchers have a better June than Yusei Kikuchi (7-2, 3.75 ERA). The Jays starter has a 2.28 ERA across five June starts and has not allowed more than two runs in any of them. The 32-year-old has also seen an uptick in his strikeout totals, registering more than five strikeouts in four of his five starts this month. He is averaging 6.6 strikeouts per game in June, and we see that continuing against the Red Sox.
While Kikuchi was beaten up by Boston earlier this year, that came on the road. He has been his best at home this season, with a 3.13 ERA across seven starts. This Boston offense will also be different, as they find themselves struggling to score runs. They have lost seven of their last ten games, averaging 3.0 runs during that span. That will give Kikuchi a chance to go deep into the game, giving them plenty of opportunities to rack up strikeouts.
