MLB Player Props, May 11

New York Mets vs Cincinnati Reds

My Pick – Francisco Lindor Prop To Record For 1+ Hits (-280)

The New York Mets are currently on a tough streak as they need momentum and regain some composure. After starting the season 14-7, the Mets have only won four of their last 16 games. They can start by finishing the three-game road series against the Cincinnati Reds.

There are solid odds for some of the star batters for the Mets to account for hits. Shortstop Francisco Lindor has been among the players that been struggling throughout the past few weeks but has found moderate success. Lindor has accounted for hits in seven of the last 10 games for the Mets.

He has recorded three hits in the two previous games against the Reds. The pitching for the Reds has had just as much of a bad streak by ranking 14th in the NL in hits allowed (345). This game should open more opportunities for batters like Lindor to develop some good habits at the plate.

San Diego Padres vs Minnesota Twins

My Pick – Bailey Ober Prop To Record 4+ Strikeouts (-156)

This Thursday is set to be a big game for Minnesota Twins starting Bailey Ober, who is set to start his fourth game of the season against the San Diego Padres. Ober (0.98 ERA in 18.1 innings pitched) has been solid in his limited time as a starter by allowing only 10 hits and two runs while delivering 16 strikeouts.

The Padres have revitalized their team’s efficiency at the plate through the past couple of weeks. The Padres have seen more input from their star batters this season, but San Diego is still ranked 10th in the NL in strikeouts encountered (333).

It would be tough for Ober to consistently strike out the talented batters of the Padres, but with the bar set low at 4.5, it is a good opportunity for Ober to have at-least a good performance.

Chicago White Sox vs Kansas City Royals

My Pick – Brady Singer Prop To Record Below 4.5 Strikeouts (-150)

Both the Chicago White Sox and the Kansas City Royals have been a disaster this season as they are nowhere near the top or even the AL Central Divisional standings. The Royals have only won one series this season. They have a chance to win a four-game home series on Thursday against the White Sox 3-1.

Unfortunately for the Royals, they are set to start Brady Singer (8.82 ERA in 33.2 innings pitched) who has allowed 33 runs and delivered 33 strikeouts. Singer is among the worst starting pitchers, not only for the Royals but in the entire league.

The White Sox have a great chance to even this current series at 2-2 as they are decent in the batting portion of the game. Chicago is ranked ninth in strikeouts encountered in the AL (324), eighth in batting average (.238), and 10th in on-base percentage (.302). It is more likely that Singer is going to deliver under five strikeouts than over four in Thursday’s game.

Tampa Bay Rays vs New York Yankees

My Pick – Drew Rasmussen Prop To Record 4+ Strikeouts (-140)

The Tampa Bay Rays have been among the top pitching teams in the MLB through the majority of the season. The Rays have a season ERA of 2.97 as well as rank first in hits allowed in the AL (255) and first in runs allowed (114). Tampa Bay has thrown for 321 strikeouts (eighth in the AL) through 37 games.

Drew Rasmussen is one of the pitchers for the Rays and is set to start in Thursday’s game against the Yankees. Rasmussen (3.11 ERA in 37.2 innings pitched) has delivered 40 strikeouts.

The Yankees are a strong power-hitting team that can account for big hits but have encountered significant strikeouts. New York has encountered 293 strikeouts, which is the fifth most in the AL. Rasmussen is set to have a lower bar to hold the Yankees to several strikeouts.

San Francisco Giants vs Arizona Diamondbacks

My Pick – Christian Walker Prop To Record 1+ RBI (+120)

Not many baseball experts would have guessed before the 2023 MLB Season that the San Francisco Giants were below .500% and the Arizona Diamondbacks would be in second place in the NL West Division. The Diamondbacks have been seeing production throughout their roster, including first baseman Christian Walker.

Through 35 games this season, Walker has accounted for 21 runs, a team-high 37 hits, and a team-high 28 RBIs. He has been able to consistently get his teammates home for runs throughout the season.

The pitching for the Giants has been on a slump as they rank eighth in the NL in ERA (4.46), 12th in hits allowed (331) and ninth in runs allowed (182). Thursday should be a game where the Diamondbacks can get on base and account for hits consistently, which leaves an open opportunity for Walker to do what he does best, getting his teammates in for runs.
