Los Angeles Dodgers vs Miami Marlins

My Pick – Jazz Chisholm Jr. Prop To Account for Over 0.5 hits (-130 at DraftKings)

The three-game series between the Los Angeles Dodgers (84-54) at the Miami Marlins (72-67) hasn't gone as expected as the Marlins finish the game with a sweep over the Dodgers, who are serious contenders for a World Series appearance. The Marlins have had better performances in the batting, fielding, and pitching.

The Dodgers are set to go with 25-year-old starting pitcher Ryan Pepiot (1.29 ERA in 14 innings pitched) who will have the primary responsibility of suppressing the Marlins' impressive batting team. The Marlins are third in the NL in hits accounted for (1233), second in strikeouts encountered (1090), and second in batting average (.260).

One solid betting opportunity for this game is for Marlins centerfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. to account for a solid hit. Chisholm is not the most reliable hitter for Miami, but he is efficient enough to get on base with a solid performance against an inexperienced pitcher.

Detroit Tigers vs New York Yankees

My Pick – Eduardo Rodriguez Prop To Account for Over 5.5 strikeouts (-105)

DraftKings

9/10

The New York Yankees (70-69) are back in the race for an AL Wildcard after a five-game winning streak. Among those five games are two low-scoring wins over the Detroit Tigers (63-76). On Thursday, the Yankees and Tigers finish out a three-game home series.

The Tigers have kept it scoring and closing thanks to their impressive pitching. While the Yankees have ways to win, they still encounter multiple strikeouts in a game. In three of the last five wins for the Yankees, they have struck out at least 10 times.

The Tigers are set to go with their ace pitcher in Eduardo Rodriguez (3.11 ERA in 124.1 innings pitched), who has delivered 123 strikeouts. Rodriguez could have a solid pitching performance against a Yankees team that has found life late in the season. It will be tough for them to account for the same productivity at the plate as New York, but there is a chance with Rodriguez at the mound.

St. Louis Cardinals vs Atlanta Braves

My Pick – Ronald Acuna Jr. Prop To Account for Over 1.5 hits (+105 at DraftKings)

DraftKings

9/10

Bet $5, Get $200 + $150 in No Sweat Bets

The Atlanta Braves (90-48) have been the best team in the MLB through most of the 2023 MLB Season. They are the most complete team in the league with multiple batters and pitchers being named 2023 MLB All-Stars.

Once in a while, even the Braves hit a slump where they lose to bad teams. Atlanta is in danger of getting swept by the St. Louis Cardinals (61-78) in a three-game series on Thursday. This Thursday is the Braves' chance to bounce back with a big win thanks to a dominating performance at the plate. What better player to get the rhythm going at the plate than Braves' star right-fielder Ronald Acuna Jr.

Acuna has accounted for 185 hits in 138 games this season. The Cardinals will be going with one of the worst starting pitchers in the MLB this season in Adam Wainwright (8.10 ERA in 83.1 innings pitched). Expect multiple big and angry hits from the Braves' stars at the plate, including Acuna.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs Chicago Cubs

My Pick – Javier Assad Prop To Account for Over 4.5 strikeouts (+115 at DraftKings)

DraftKings

9/10

Bet $5, Get $200 + $150 in No Sweat Bets

21+ | T&Cs apply

The Chicago Cubs (76-64) host the Arizona Diamondbacks at the beginning of a four-game series with serious NL Playoff implications. The Diamondbacks are trying to push for one last serious streak with their impressive young roster. The Cubs are trying to secure the NL Central Division or at least an NL Wildcard spot.

While the Diamondbacks have been slipping through the ranks of the NL, the Cubs have been one of the most underrated teams in the second half of the season. Most of their success can be traced down to their impressive pitching performances.

The Cubs will be starting Javier Assad (2.69 ERA in 87 innings pitched) who has delivered 67 strikeouts this season. While the Diamondbacks haven't been the same team early in the season at the plate, they are still efficient in not forcing strikeouts. Arizona ranks second in the NL in strikeouts encountered (1090), but with this game having serious playoff implications, the Cubs look to force the Diamondbacks in bad situations.
