The Minnesota Twins (85-73) are all set for the MLB postseason after clinching the AL Central. They are getting one final tune-up before the playoffs by potentially sweeping the Oakland Athletics (48-110) on Thursday.

This Thursday will be the last regular season performance on Twins' ace pitcher Sonny Gray (2.80 ERA in 180 innings pitched) before moving onto the playoffs. The team will be pitching against will allow him to warm up before taking on a more competent opponent.

There is not a lot of belief by DraftKings that Gray will deliver over six strikeouts. This could be that Gray could be pulled early, or that the Athletics will attempt to finish with pride, although their season has been played with anything but pride. The Athletics are 12th in the AL in strikeouts delivered this season (1445). Look for Gray to finish the 2023 MLB Season strong and potentially throw seven strikeouts early.

Boston Red Sox vs Baltimore Orioles

My Pick – Cedric Mullins Prop To Account for Under 0.5 hits (-110 at DraftKings)

The Baltimore Orioles (99-59) have already claimed an AL Playoff berth for the first time since 2016. They haven't won the AL East Division since 2014. While the division is not claimed yet, the Orioles feel confident in their lead and their talent to finish the job.

The Boston Red Sox (76-82) are set to finish last in the division and in a four-game losing streak. They will look to salvage the end of their season with a few wins.

On Thursday, the Red Sox will be starting Chris Sale (4.42 ERA in 97.2 innings pitched). The Orioles will be expecting a resilient Sale and a Red Sox team. They will not be as resilient at the plate, but they will look to win and lock up the division.

New York Yankees vs Toronto Blue Jays

My Pick – Chris Bassitt Prop To Account for Over 5.5 strikeouts (-155 at DraftKings)

It is a race to the finish towards the last two AL wildcard spots. The Toronto Blue Jays (87-71) are fighting hard for one of the last two spots that will be claimed by the end of this weekend.

The Blue Jays haven't made it easy on themselves as they have dropped the two last games versus the New York Yankees (81-77). They will attempt to redeem themselves in the last game of the home series on Thursday as they will go with their ace pitcher Chris Bassitt (3.74 ERA in 192.1 innings pitched).

He will take on a Yankees team that has seen some serious disappointment this season. The Yankees are ranked ninth in the AL in strikeouts delivered (1374). The Blue Jays will need every win and every efficient performance possible from their stars and role players to secure a playoff spot.

Texas Rangers vs Seattle Mariners

My Pick – Mitch Garver Prop To Account for Over 0.5 hits (-170 at DraftKings)

The AL West Division is engaged in one of the tightest race for two of the last two AL Wildcard spot. The Texas Rangers (89-69) currently lead the division and look to take the spot. The Seattle Mariners (85-73) are in third place of the loaded division, just behind the Houston Astros (87-72).

The Mariners have one last chance to make a postseason run after going 1-2 in the previous series against the Astros. The Rangers and the Mariners will play their final series of the regular season starting on Thursday in a four-game series.

The Rangers remain as one of the best batting teams in the AL as they rank first in the AL in runs accounted for (868),  first in hits (1441), first in home runs (228), first in walks (578), first in batting average (.265) and first in slugging percentage (.457).

This game will be a great opportunity for some of the other role players for the Rangers like designated hitter Mitch Garver to make an impact and help Texas get a scoring drive. Garver has accounted for 79 hits and a batting average of .281  in 83 games this season.
