There are six exciting matchups on Thursday night and we'll be looking at some interesting bets regarding some guards' ability on the boards.
When the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics face off Jayson Tatum will look to make up for his injured teammates' production on the glass. Luka Doncic and his fantastic overall production will be put to the test when he faces the Phoenix Suns. And when the Chicago Bulls face the Charlotte Hornets, DeMar DeRozan will look to take advantage of the pace and push the break on his own.
Let's check out the bets!
Jayson Tatum has returned from injury and he's looking to carry his shorthanded Boston Celtics to victory. At DraftKings Sportsbook, Tatum is a +120 to clear 8.5 rebounds when he takes on the New York Knicks.
On the season, Tatum is averaging 31.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists on 46.8% from the field and 35.3% from the three-point range. In his two games back from injury though, Tatum has averaged 28.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists on 48.6% from the field and 40.0% from three-point range.
With the likes of Brogdon, Horford, and Smart likely unavailable to play, that's 14.0 rebounds that need to made up for on their team average. At Tatum's size, he's more than capable, and he's cleared 8.5 in 21 of his 46 appearances this season. The Knicks are a tough rebounding team, but Tatum should still be capable - especially with Knicks starting center Mitchell Robinson unavailable.
Luka Doncic continues to try and drag his Mavericks up the standings with his fantastic, All-Star-worthy play. At PointsBet, Doncic is a +110 to clear 10.5 rebounds when he takes on the Phoenix Suns.
On the season, Doncic is averaging 33.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 8.6 assists on 49.8% from the field and 35.2% from three-point range. Over his last four games since returning to the lineup, Doncic has averaged 33.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 6.3 assists on 49.5% from the field and 37.0% from deep. He's cleared 10.5 rebounds in two of his last four games.
Doncic isn't what you'd call a traditional rebounder, but his willingness to get the ball off the glass and start the offense is unrivaled. Having cleared 10.5 rebounds in 15 of his 44 matches this season, he should be able to do so against a Suns team that's missing starting center DeAndre Ayton.

While the Bulls haven't found much success this season, DeMar DeRozan remains as one of the league's most productive players. At FanDuel, DeRozan is a +104 to clear 5.5 rebounds when he takes on the Charlotte Hornets.
On the season, DeRozan is averaging 26.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.9 assists on 51.0% from the field and 27.4% from the three-point range. Over his last three games back from injury, DeRozan has averaged 28.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.7 assists on 56.7% from the field. He's cleared 5.5 rebounds just once over the course of those three games.
DeRozan has cleared 5.5 rebounds in 16 of his 43 games this season, with one of those times coming against the Hornets earlier this year. The Hornets allow 46.2 rebounds per game (28th in the NBA) and much of it has to do with the pace of play and their inefficient offense. DeRozan will have plenty of opportunity to get on the glass and push the pace, so we expect him to clear 5.5 with ease.
