The Houston Rockets are dreadful, and they’ll still be lacking key pieces like Christian Wood. They’ll likely put up a good fight before the All-Star break, but they’re still heavily outmatched.

The Brooklyn Nets may be without Kevin Durant, but they are still stacked with talent. While they move the ball and are one of the best assist teams in the NBA, it is almost offset by their inability to not turn it over.
The Brooklyn Nets are nineteenth in the NBA in turnovers per game. Despite averaging 27.1 assists per game, they give up the ball 14.3 times per game, giving them a less than two-to-one assist-to-turnover ratio.
The Rockets are not a good team. But if Brooklyn wants to end the first half of their season strong, they’ll need to limit the Rockets’ additional opportunities. The best way to do that is to take care of the ball.
The Houston Rockets are starved for options at the moment, struggling with injuries and owning a dreadful 12 game losing streak. If they hope to beat the Nets, they need to make things simpler for themselves.
The Rockets are missing Christian Wood and Eric Gordon in terms of crucial pieces to their success. So with Victor Oladipo and John Wall leading the line, you’d hope that they would play with some more pace.
Houston is struggling to defend and score at the moment. Ranking twenty-third in fast break points this season, the Rockets have no right to play a slow pace with one of the league’s most athletic backcourts.

It’s no secret that Kyrie Irving is a brilliant player, but despite his production he would do well to reign in his shooting at times.
In his last game against the San Antonio Spurs, Irving contributed 27 points, seven assists, and seven rebounds, but on nine of 24 shooting from the field.
He’ll likely be faced with John Wall, an excellent defender at the point of attack. Improving his efficiency would be a big step in taking the game early for the Nets.

All-Star guard Victor Oladipo is yet to find his footing with the Rockets, and is seemingly lacking some on-court chemistry with points guard John Wall. In order to beat the Nets, Oladipo will need to be special.
In his last game, a loss to the Cavaliers, Oladipo posted 20 points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals on eight of 21 shooting.
Oladipo is a versatile offensive player that can do much more than just settle for shots. If he makes a concentrated effort to attack the rim and attract defenders, it opens up Houston’s entire offence.
