MIL: No Rest for the Weary
The Milwaukee Bucks are coming off of a difficult, but well-earned victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. While Milwaukee’s stars played big minutes, they’ll need to do so again on the second leg of a back-to-back.
When Milwaukee faces New York they’ll come up against a hard-charging, three-point capable unit. With their big man Brook Lopez unavailable, Milwaukee are actually better equipped to recover and get out to shooters.
It’s going to come down to a battle of wills at the three-point line. While the Knicks are fifth in the league in three-point percentage, the Bucks are fifth in three-point percentage allowed. Expect some rapid close-outs from the Bucks.
Bucks Key Player: (G) Grayson Allen

Grayson Allen will likely be forever known for his immaturity on the court, but that has little to do with his abilities as a basketball player. In Milwaukee’s 118-109 win over the Sixers, the former Blue Devil starred.
Allen posted 25 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds on 8 of 13 shooting from the field and 5 of 9 shooting from three-point range. He was also perfect from the free throw line on the night.
The Bucks create a ton of opportunities through the attention that Antetokounmpo draws, but it is up to the role players to convert on those looks. If Allen can keep up his efficiency, it could be a comfortable night for the Bucks.
NYK: Take Pride In Defending
The Knicks were at the top of the East to open the season, but they now find themselves struggling to stay in the top eight. While their offence is strong, there are significant issues with their defensive efforts.
You’ll rarely see a team that is as good at the three-ball as New York, but equally as bad. The Knicks are fourth in three-point field goals per game, but dead last in three-point field goals allowed.
It seems Thibodeau’s defensive influence hasn’t yet carried over from last season. If they can’t sort it out against the drive-and-kick Bucks, it’ll be another loss at the Garden.
Knicks Key Player: (F-C) Taj Gibson

— NBA (@NBA) October 12, 2019
It doesn’t quite feel like a Tom Thibodeau team without Taj Gibson on the roster. Under New York’s current big man crisis, expect to see more Gibson on the court than usual.
The veteran big man is coming off of a 31 minute evening where he contributed 7 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks on 3 of 4 shooting from the field.
Gibson isn’t going to be the flashiest player on the court or on the stat sheet. He will however be able to provide steadiness and reliability for a Knicks defense that has been shaky at best.
