How Can the Knicks beat the Raptors?
On the road, the New York Knicks have to be cautious of Toronto’s scoring runs. Where New York have the advantage against Toronto is in the paint.
When the Knicks face the Raptors, Toronto are not expected to have either of their centers available to them. Both Precious Achiuwa and Khem Birch aren’t expected to play against the Knicks, so Mitchell Robinson and Taj Gibson should have an advantage.
New York have a tendency to let their offence stagnate, so they can’t settle just because the Raptors are lacking size in the paint. Without a true point guard on the court, the Knicks need to focus on moving the ball.

The New York Knicks are looking to bounce back from their recent loss to the Pacers. With some home cooking, Canadian international RJ Barrett is looking to have a big game.
In New York’s 122-102 loss to the Pacers, Barrett posted 19 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds on 5 of 12 shooting from the field. While his finishing wasn’t up to standard, Barrett made up for it by converting on 3 of 5 three-point field goal attempts and 6 of 7 free throw attempts.
When the Knicks are struggling on offense, they look to Barrett or Randle to create something. Now the primary playmaker in the Knicks’ offence, Barrett will need to create for others against the Raptors’ switch-happy defence.
How Can the Raptors beat the Knicks?
The Toronto Raptors are coming off of a heartbreaking loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. When the Raptors come up against the Knicks, they can’t steal a victory without production from their bench.
After going up 13 points on the Oklahoma City Thunder, a 12-33 third quarter tipped the game decidedly in Toronto’s opposition’s favor. While the Raptors were able bring it within one at the end, it was due to some heroics by Fred Vanvleet.
The Raptors bench combined for 14 points compared to Oklahoma City’s 29. If Toronto want to take down New York, they need to have scoring production in every lineup.

The Toronto Raptors are an incredibly young team. While their team has their ups and downs, it is veteran Fred Vanvleet who needs to step up his game in support of them.
In the Toronto Raptors’ last game, a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Fred Vanvleet failed to make an impact until the final quarter. He had 19 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds on 6 of 20 shooting from the field. But he scored 14 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter alone.
The Raptors will have their hands full against the Knicks, who own one of the more intimidating offences in the league. Vanvleet will need to make an offensive impact early if he wants to lead the Raptors to victory.
