The Golden State Warriors are much improved from last season, while the Heat continues to struggle to find their rhythm. We don’t expect the Heat to keep pace with the Warriors.

The Miami Heat are nowhere near the pace that they were on last season, but that hasn’t been due to Jimmy Butler’s contributions. Despite missing 11 games, Butler returned to the lineup looking like the All-Star that he is. At 11-16 though, Miami needs more from the players that are meant to support him.
Most of their issues stem from their shooting woes. While Duncan Robinson is still shooting near 40% from three, Dragic, Herro, and Olynyk’s percentages have fallen from 40% last season to mid-30% this season.
Butler is playing brilliantly, but if the Heat have nobody who can back him up they won’t be competitive against the better teams in the league. Against an improved, and frankly impressive, Warriors defense, the Heat need a team effort to secure a victory.
Head coach Steve Kerr’s offense has grown famous due to its free-flowing style and the threat from every position on the court. When the ball is moving, things are usually going well for Golden State.
The disparity in team assists through wins and losses is substantial for the Warriors. In victories, the Warriors shoot 49.7% from the field with 29.3 assists. In losses, that ratio drops to 42.5% and 25.2 assists per game.
With only Stephen Curry being a regular offensive threat, the Warriors need to find good offensive flow to create good opportunities. It’ll be difficult against a disciplined Heat defense.

When Tyler Herro took off in last season’s NBA Playoffs, the Heat thought that they had found their successor to Jimmy Butler. While he’s taken steps toward a larger role in his sophomore season, he hasn’t made the All-Star jump that Adebayo has.
Herro is averaging 17.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game on 45.0% shooting from the field and 34.5% shooting from deep.
Herro needs to be a regular threat for the Heat, as well as a solid contributor on the defensive side of the ball. He’ll be outmatched at every position physically, so Herro will be relied on to be efficient both ways.

While Stephen Curry is the point guard, Draymond Green is the piece that makes the Warriors’ offense flow. Brilliant from the high-post, Green will be crucial to beating the Heat’s organized defense.
In his last match against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Green showed off his All-Star level capabilities. Despite scoring just six points, Green contributed eight rebounds and a game-high 16 assists.
Number one in the league in opponent paint points allowed, Green will need to be just as sharp in picking apart the Heat defense to steal a victory.
