Both the Milwaukee Bucks and the Indiana Pacers err on the side of the offensive through the early NBA season. While both are in solid form, the Bucks and Pacers still have room to grow despite their exciting performances. We’re expecting a big scoring night when this matchup tips off.
Through seven games, the Milwaukee Bucks are averaging 117.1 points per game on 47.0% from the field and 36.8% from three-point range. Much of their game is predicated on the individual success of stars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, averaging 48.7 points combined as the team is 29th in assists per game with 22.0.
The Indiana Pacers are the NBA’s highest-scoring outfit. They average 126.0 points per game on 49.8% from the field and 38.2% from three-point range. Indiana has been the second-most efficient team in the NBA this season, shooting 49.8% from the field and 38.2% from three-point range. They boast seven double-digit scorers through seven games, led by Tyrese Haliburton, who averages 24.0 per game.
The Pacers won just one of their four games against the Bucks last season. In fact, they’ve won just one of their previous 12 matchups against Milwaukee. Last season, the Pacers and Bucks cleared 243.5 in all four meetings.
Milwaukee forward Khris Middleton was inactive during their Wednesday game but may play against the Pacers. Indiana has no players listed with injuries.

Myles Turner has been crucial to the Indiana Pacers’ hot start to the season, acting as a rim protector and stretch big man on the offensive end. Turner is posting 16.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game on 52.6% shooting from the field and 41.4% from three-point range. Matching up against Bucks big man Brook Lopez, Turner will have plenty of opportunities from range.
In their recent 16-point victory over the Utah Jazz, Turner was massive for the Pacers. He posted 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks on 66.7% from the field, but he failed to convert on either of his three-point attempts. He was excellent against Milwaukee last season, hitting 39.1% of his threes while averaging 21.7 points per game.
Acting around the playmaking prowess of Tyrese Haliburton, Turner has been vital to Indiana’s success this season. Turner should get right back on track from behind the arc against a Bucks team that is 26th in three-pointers allowed per game.

The Indiana Pacers have been dependent on their shooters through the early stages of success this season, and none have been more critical than sharpshooter Buddy Hield. Averaging 13.4 points on 3.4 made three-pointers per game, Hield, as expected, has been the Pacers' designated sharpshooter. Hield has been critical to the Pacers' league-best offense as an offensive outlet for playmaker Tyrese Haliburton and big man Myles Turner.
Despite the Pacers' 16-point victory over the Jazz in their last game, Buddy Hield struggled shooting the ball. He posted 10 points on the night, shooting 25.0% from the field and hitting just two of his 12 three-point attempts. Against the Milwaukee Bucks' somewhat disorganized defense, though, Hield will have a significant opportunity to get back on track offensively.
Hield was in excellent form in three games against the Bucks last season. He posted 20.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game on 56.4% from the field and 54.2% from three-point range. Hield will have a good night on Thursday against a Bucks team that is 24th in field-goal percentage allowed and 25th in points per game.
