Our Pick: Moneyline Minnesota Timberwolves (+120)
The Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors are on a solid trend through the early season. However, Minnesota has the edge going into this game. On a five-game win streak averaging 117.2 points per game, not to mention their suffocating defense, the Timberwolves project to come out on top when they face the Warriors. It’ll be competitive, but the Timberwolves two-way quality is apparent. However, with Anthony Edwards and Naz Reid questionable, don’t be afraid to take the other side if their absence is confirmed.

The Golden State Warriors enter this game from a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. This match will be the second leg of a back-to-back, and the Timberwolves will give them no chance to catch their breath. Falling to fifth in the Western Conference, the Warriors are desperate for victory so as not to fall further behind the top contenders in the West.
The Warriors have taken a more deliberate pace than usual through the early parts of the season, but they’ve been just as effective. The Warriors average 114.4 points per game on 46.9% from the field and 35.7% from three on 13.8 made per contest. In their last match, a loss to the Cavaliers, the Warriors struggled on the defensive side of the ball. While it was a relatively even affair, the Warriors allowed the Cavs to get to the free throw line 43 times to their own 30.
The Golden State Warriors should have a full complement when they take on the Timberwolves on Sunday evening. While Draymond Green was ejected from their last game, he must regroup to deal with the twin frontcourt threat of Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have been one of the NBA’s most impressive teams this early season. Winning five straight games, the Timberwolves continue their five-game road trip with two straight against the Warriors. Given their outstanding two-way play this season, the Warriors’ egalitarian offense will be an excellent test for the young Wolves.
The Timberwolves have been very efficient through eight games, averaging 112.4 points (17th) on 48.6% shooting (6th) and 37.3% from three (8th). Even better has been their defense, allowing 102.3 points per game (1st) on 42.2% from the field (1st) and 31.8% from three (2nd). They most recently defeated the San Antonio Spurs, dropping 117 points in a seven-point win while outrebounding their opponents 51 to 38.
Center Naz Reid (Neck) and guard Anthony Edwards (Illness) are questionable for their Sunday matchup against the Warriors. Guards Jordan McLaughlin and Jaylen Clark remain out and have no timetable for their return.
