The Avocados From Mexico Cure Bowl will include Miami of Ohio and Appalachian State, with numerous notable players sitting this out.
QB Aveon Smith (Transfer Portal)
CB Jeremiah Caldwell (Transfer Portal)
EDGE Donovan Spellman (Transfer Portal)
RB Nate Nowell (Transfer Portal)
WR Dashaun Davis (Transfer Portal)
WR Milan Tucker (Transfer Portal)
Below, we have our three best props for this matchup.
Aguilar passed for 3,526 passing yards this season, 33 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He averaged 8.2 yards per attempt and had just two games this season with less than two passing touchdowns.
In the Cure Bowl, he’ll take on a Miami (OH) team that might have to turn things over to quarterback Henry Hesson, who’s attempted just five passes ever in college football.
This could allow Appalachian State’s offense plenty of opportunities despite Miami (OH)’s tough defense.
This season, Miami (OH) held teams to just 15.8 points per game (fifth) and 190.8 passing yards (20th). In their last game against Toledo, they allowed 273 passing yards.
App. State scored 33.9 per game.
With the lack of quarterback options and the project, more time on the field is required from the defense; look for them to get worn down and Aguilar to hit two passing touchdowns here.
We just took the over on his passing touchdowns at 1.5, but we’ll lean under on the passing yards here.
The line here is at 254.5, and Miami (OH), while they allowed 273 against Dequan Finn and Toledo in their last game, have been fairly stout against the pass, allowing 170.3 over their last three games, which does include the 273-yard performance.
While we believe the Miami (OH) defense will spend more time on the field, we could see a situation where App. State and their 176.5 rushing yards per game do some work here, as the Miami (OH) offense could struggle with uncertainty at quarterback.
Also, Aguilar will be without Davis and Tucker, who combined for 49 catches for well over 600 yards and four touchdowns.
Look for Aguilar to finish somewhere around 230 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Davis and Tucker were far from the No. 1 and No. 2 receivers on App. State, their loss will certainly allow for more snaps from their other wide receivers, like Horn.
Horn was the No. 2 target for Aguilar this season, catching 34 passes for 544 yards and six touchdowns.
Here, see plenty of Miami (OH) cornerback Raion Strader. This season, Strader, across 428 coverage snaps and as a first-year player, has allowed 51 receptions for 475 yards and two touchdowns, including one against Toledo.
This is certainly the better matchup at the corner here as Horn takes on a first-year player. Horn last scored in Week 13 against Georgia Southern and had two touchdowns against Southern Miss. and Louisiana-Monroe.
