With so many bowl games dealing with opt-outs, Ole Miss and Penn State are examples of games that should have most starters going.
There are plenty of opt-outs, but most are backups transferring. Then, there are players like Ole Miss wide receiver Dayton Wade, who’s going to the NFL but will play here.
Let’s check out the three best prop bets for this matchup.
Jaxson Dart has been an excellent asset for the Rebels offense this season, passing for 2,984 yards on 321 attempts, 20 touchdowns, five interceptions, and added 551 rushing yards and seven scores.
However, he’s going up against one of the best defenses in the country here at Penn State.
This season, Penn State has allowed 162.3 passing yards per game; that average is just 92.7 over their past three games.
Dart has three games this season with 199 or less passing yards. The best defense, in terms of passing yards allowed per game, he played this season was the Georgia Bulldogs, and he had 112 passing yards. The Bulldogs allowed 181.8 passing yards per game and 165.7 over their last three games, and Penn State is even better than that.
Take the under on Dart’s passing yards here despite Chop Robinson opting out of this one.
Wade is headed off to the NFL but will suit up here one last time. This could result in him getting more targets than normal, but he will face Penn State cornerback Johnny Dixon, who’s allowed 21 receptions for 244 yards and zero touchdowns this season. He’s allowed 48 receiving yards or less in all but one game this season.
Wade has five games with 48 receiving yards or less and has 52 receptions on 72 targets this season for 769 yards and four touchdowns.
While Robinson is out and that pressure on Dart won’t be there, the secondary here should still be able to hold it down, especially in a matchup where the cornerback has only allowed more than this line once all season.

The Rebels offense is in for a tough matchup, but we’re taking the over on his rushing yards at 16.5 here.
Dart has 17 rushing yards or more this season in all but two games. The Nittany Lions have allowed 97 rushing yards per game over their last three contests. Edge rusher Chop Robinson is set to miss this one, and Dart will need to use his legs to extend plays and try to create some offense against this stout defense.
Look for Dart, who had 551 rushing yards this season, to have 17 or more in this one as he struggles in the passing game.
