The Chiefs have won 16 of their last 17 matchups against the Broncos
Kansas City is 8-0, but every game has come down to the wire
Can Bo Nix have a successful performance?
This year’s matchup between the Chiefs and Broncos is a little different. The game features Patrick Mahomes against a rookie quarterback in Bo Nix. Mahomes has owned the Broncos but the Chiefs have been one of the worst teams against the spread in 2024.
In Week 10, the Chiefs are favored by eight points, and we think they will struggle to cover this number. We’re placing our spread bet and multiple props on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Denver Broncos | +8 (-110) | +300 | Over 41.5 (-108) |
Kansas City Chiefs | -8 (-110) | -380 | Under 41.5 (-112) |
The Cold, Hard Football Facts have successfully predicted the outcome of NFL games and seasons for over 20 years. Their 22 proprietary stats rank teams in terms of efficiency and Kansas City is seventh in the Quality Stats Power Rankings.
Denver is 13th in the Quality Stats Power Rankings, down four spots from the week prior. Bo Nix hasn’t been awful as a rookie, as he has Denver at 5-4 and is looking to move up in the AFC West standings.
The Chiefs are 8-0 but have not been winning by wide margins. Every week has come down to the final possession, but Kansas City always finds a way to win.
Considering the Chiefs have been bad against the spread, we’re taking the Broncos at +8.

We see this game coming down to the final possession with a Kansas City victory by 3-6 points. Statistically, this has been Patrick Mahomes' worst season, but he has found a way to win every game down the stretch.
Over the years, Denver has proven that it can stay with the Chiefs, and we see a similar result this year. In 2024, Mahomes has thrown for 1,942 yards with nine interceptions.
Denver’s secondary is as good as anybody in the league, and we think they will contain Mahomes throughout this game.
Denver will have to run the ball efficiently to cover this spread. This will allow Bo Nix to open up the passing game down the field, which we think he will exploit.
Another factor for this game is Mahomes playing with a hurt ankle, which he has been doing for the past couple of weeks.
This could slow him down in getting out of the pocket, which would allow Denver to apply pressure the whole game.
We expect Denver to play its best football this week because they’re facing the defending Super Bowl champions.
DeAndre Hopkins is coming off a two-touchdown performance on Monday Night Football. Hopkins contributed to every drive last week and helped create explosiveness for Kansas City.
Hopkins had eight catches for 86 yards to go with these two touchdowns, and we are starting to see his volume increase already.
Mahomes and him were on the same page all night one week ago, which is scary for the NFL considering it was only his second game with the team.
Look for Hopkins to be the priority in the passing game this week and to find himself in the end zone in Week 10.

Kelce has been the game’s best tight end over the past few seasons, but he had a rough start to 2024. He has heated up the last two weeks, combining 24 catches for 190 yards and a touchdown.
Kelce presents a tough matchup for defenses with his size and ability to run routes like a wide receiver. He is the best red zone target that the Chiefs have outside of running back Kareem Hunt, and if Denver sells out on the run, Kelce will take advantage.

The last prop we are taking is Courtland Sutton to score a touchdown. He only has two touchdowns on the season, but he is the clear number one target in this offense.
Sutton is coming off a great performance. He had seven receptions for 122 yards against the Ravens, and the week prior, he had eight catches for 100 yards and a touchdown.
Sutton is a tough matchup, and we think he will challenge cornerback Trent McDuffie and find his way into the end zone in Week 10.
