While the Cowboys are in the postseason, a win here does secure the No. 2 seed as opposed to seeing if they’ll land as No. 3 or No. 5.
The Commanders will likely land the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft as the organization cleans house in the offseason.
That said, let’s explore some player props for this matchup.
Let’s be real: The only team with a chance to score 30 points in this one is the Cowboys. So, for this prop, we’ll examine them more thoroughly.
This season, the Cowboys average 29.4 points per game. Not only does this average fall short of 30 points, but over the last three games, they’ve averaged 16.7. In their last game, they scored 20. In this one against Washington, they’re on the road where they’ve averaged 21.5 points per game compared to an eye-popping 37.4 at home.
Also, the Cowboys won’t need 30 points to win here. The Commanders offense has looked mightily inept despite Howell’s penchant for throwing the ball constantly this season.
Look for the Cowboys to take a comfortable lead, run the ball, and score somewhere in the 20s while the Commanders struggle to break two touchdowns—they scored ten last week and average 19.9 points per game this season.

This goes back to the Cowboys point total here combined with the Commanders offense.
The Cowboys are in the playoffs, but their seeding relies on a win here. Thus, starters will play here. Micah Parsons, Demarcus Lawrence, and others will take the field.
The Commanders have several weapons, but Howell hasn’t cleared 169 passing yards in his last four starts. He was benched throughout that span, but he’s struggled mightily recently. This season, he has 20 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. Since Week 10, he has had three passing touchdowns and a massive ten interceptions. He’s thrown at least one in all of those games.
The Cowboys will score approximately three touchdowns here while Washington struggles to score one.

For this one, we’re looking toward potential garbage time for the Commanders. Also, this season, the Cowboys have been weirdly slow to start coming out of the half. They rank 24th in third-quarter scoring, averaging 3.4 points per third quarter and averaging two over their last three games. Meanwhile, Washington is at 4.7 points per game over their last three in the third quarter.
The Cowboys will build a substantial enough lead to where the Commanders are forced to throw and might win a quarter 7-3 or 7-0 in a meaningless situation.
