After starting the season with the Los Angeles Rams hosting the Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night Football, followed by the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers, it looks like we’re getting a bit of a down game this week offensively.
The Cleveland Browns will host the Pittsburgh Steelers this week as both come off Week 2 losses, with the Browns being in an even worse fashion.
Up 30-17 with less than two minutes to go, the Browns blew the lead and lost outright to the Joe Flacco-led New York Jets.
Regardless, there are some excellent props this week, so let’s dive in.

After a nine-catch, 101-yard, one-touchdown day in Week 2, Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper will be more in line with his Week 1 statistics (three catches for 17 yards).
Cooper lines up on the left and right; there, he’ll face Steelers starting cornerbacks Akhello Witherspoon and Cameron Sutton.
While Sutton has been the better of the two, the genuine concern lies in the safety position: Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick has been fantastic this year, allowing just three catches for 24 yards and two interceptions, and has added seven tackles.
Due to the lack of receiving threats, the Browns have, Fitzpatrick’s main game plan will be to thwart any Brissett/Cooper connections, and he’ll be successful.
According to Pro Football Focus, Fitzpatrick ranks fourth amongst all players who’ve played at least 50 snaps in coverage per their grading system.

After catching just one ball in each of the first two games, it seemed a bit surprising to see Steelers wide receiver George Pickens have a receptions line of 2.5 with the under giving “+” money.
In this one, he’ll see a steady diet of Browns cornerback Denzel Ward. To be fair, Ward hasn’t played well this season, giving up six catches on seven targets for 139 total yards.
Pickens may not be catching many passes, but he does have an average depth of target of 21.5, which demonstrates that Steelers quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is looking for him downfield for bigger plays.
Even if Ward does get burned for a long touchdown, that’s still only one reception.
With just one catch in each of the first two games, this doesn’t seem like the breakout spot for Pickens.

We mentioned how great Fitzpatrick was in coverage in the secondary for the Steelers. He ranked fourth, according to PFF.
Of the three guys ahead of him, one was Browns linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah who’s been phenomenal in coverage.
Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth will see plenty of Owusu-Koramoah in this game. While he allowed three catches on four targets in Week 2, that still doesn’t clear the mark for Freiermuth’s total.
Freiermuth ranks fourth on the team in passing down snaps, running a route on 87% of them. These are good numbers, especially considering his average target depth of just 6.9 yards—this correlates to some easy receptions. Still, Owusu-Koramoah is not the guy to test this against.
There could be some easy dump-offs, but the key to winning this game for the Steelers is to get the running game going and their more shifty assets out in space.
