The Minnesota Vikings have looked elite through the first few weeks of the season. They beat up on a bad Giants team in Week 1 but went on to do the same to Super Bown contenders in the Texans and Niners. They have outscored their first three opponents 85-30, showing this hot start may not be a fluke.

This is a talented team, but Sam Darnold is the reason for their success. The backup quarterback has looked like an MVP candidate over the first three weeks, completing 67.9% of his passes for 657 yards and eight touchdowns. We don’t think he will shine quite so bright against a vastly improved Packers defense, but he isn’t the reason we like them to win.

Aaron Jones is an elite playmaker facing a team that refused to pay him in the off-season. The running back was a legend among the Packer fanbase, making his sudden departure a shock. While its clear Jones still loves the franchise and fans, he will be looking to show the Packers they made a mistake tonight.

Green Bay Packers Preview

The Packers are a very, very good football team. That was confirmed over the last two weeks as the team won both games without starting quarterback Jordan Love. The play calling was fantastic, as was finding a way to use Green Bay’s young playmakers with backup Malik Willis behind center. Love is expected to start Sunday’s game, meaning the offense will return to full strength.

We are big fans of Love, but he will have his hands full at the start of his first season with the team. We expected the Vikings' pass defense to struggle after losing Danielle Hunter to the Texans. However, they currently lead the league in sacks (16) and have the second-most interceptions (5).

The Vikings' pass defense will play a significant role again this week. Josh Jacobs and the Green Bay backfield have been impressive, but Minnesota is allowing the second-fewest rushing yards per game. That will force the Pack to lean on Love, but we don’t think he can handle the load in his first game back from injury.
