Our first prop bet of the day takes us to the TD Garden in Boston. This matchup between the Capitals and Bruins will not be all too exciting since the Capitals are out of the Playoff race, and the Bruins clinched the first-place spot in the Atlantic Division a few weeks ago. We will look at the Capitals’ John Carlson for this prop. Carlson has only played in 38 games this season, but his numbers have been decent. He is not a prolific scorer, but he is a bit of a scoring threat. He will have three shots or more today. Bet on the over.
Carlson comes into this game averaging 3.16 shots per game. He will face a Boston Bruins team with the best defense in the NHL today. The Bruins only allow 2.10 goals on 29.8 shots per game. This may sound concerning, but Boston will likely rest or limit many of their key players since it is the end of the season. The Bruins will want to have their best players well-rested, so Carlson will have more opportunities to shoot the puck and will end up with at least three shots. Bet on the over.

Our second prop of the day will take us to Raleigh, North Carolina. This game, like the first one, will not be all too interesting. The Hurricanes are the heavy favorites and should have no problem dismantling this mediocre Red Wings team. This prop will involve the Hurricanes’ Teuvo Teravainen. Teravainen has seen a sharp decrease in his production since last season but still should not be taken lightly when he has the puck in his hands. Teravanainen still knows how to score a goal or get an assist, so I would bet on him to finish with a point in this game. Bet on the over.
Teravainen finished last season with 65 points in 77 games and only has 37 points in 66 games this year. For whatever reason, he has not been able to replicate last year’s success. However, I would not worry about that too much heading into this game. This is for two reasons. The first is Teravainen performs much better when the Hurricanes win. The winger has 28 points in 43 wins this season and only nine points in 22 losses. I only say that because the Hurricanes should have no problem beating this Red Wings squad. The other reason is the Red Wings struggle quite a bit on the defensive end and give up nearly 3.3 goals per game. If you combine those two things, you will see why Teravainen will finish this game with a point. Bet on the over.

We will go to Newark, New Jersey, for our third prop bet of the day. This should be one of the most high-scoring games of the day, as the Sabres and Devils both have a penchant for putting the puck in the back of the net. We will look at the Devils’ Timo Meier for this prop. Meier was traded to the Devils at the Trade Deadline and has proved his worth. In 19 games in a Devils’ uniform, the winger has nine goals and four assists. He will finish with at least four shots today. Bet on the over.
Meier is coming off a five-shot game against the Boston Bruins. However, that is not the only season he will have four shots today. The main reason you should bet on the over has to do with the Devils’ opponent, the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres allow nearly 3.6 goals per game and 33.2 shots. They have one of the worst defenses in the NHL, so Meier will have plenty of opportunities to shoot. Bet on the over.

Our fourth prop bet of the day will be the safest one and only one of two unders. Nikita Kucherov is having another incredible season and leads the Lightning with 110 points. However, I cannot recommend betting on the over for this prop. This is not a criticism of Kucherov. The over/under is simply placed too high. Bet on the under.
Kucherov performs better at home but will be facing a tough Maple Leafs team in this matchup. The Maple Leafs only allow 2.7 goals per game and have only given up two regulation goals in their previous two games. Toronto may have their Playoff position all locked up, but they will still play strong defense against Tampa. Simply put, Kucherov will not have enough opportunities to get two points. Bet on the under.

We will go to St. Paul, Minnesota, for our final prop bet of the day. This prop will come from the Winnipeg Jets vs Minnesota Wild matchup. Both of these teams are fighting for Playoff seeding, so this will be an intense matchup. We will look at the Jets’ Josh Morrissey. Morrissey may be a defenseman, but he brings a lot to the table on the defensive end. The 28-year-old has nearly 60 assists and is also not afraid to shoot. However, he will not finish with three or more shots today. Bet on the under.
Morrissey is averaging 2.2 shots per game. He has games with three or more shots, but they usually come against worse teams. Morrissey will not be facing a subpar team in this game and will probably finish with two shots. His opponents, the Wild, are a strong defensive team and only allow 2.66 goals per game. Minnesota is not the best defensive squad in the NHL, but they are one of the better ones. Bet on the under.
