Today the guys are back to their regular sports betting but with World Series champs crowned and a long list of NFL all-stars benched because of COVID, the last couple weeks in sports has been anything but regular.

Last week we were treated to a surprise episode with none other than Jon’s father, the legendary Tony Orlando. It was an episode filled with exclusive stories from Tony about his life and times with some of the most famous people in music and movies. Seriously, if you haven’t watched it, do yourself a favor.

But first, we’ve got a brand new episode featuring Julian Edlow, DraftKings Content Specialist, Analyst, and the host of the Unreasonable Odds Podcast. Julian creates content for DraftKings and with sports betting becoming regulated across the country, it looks like he was in the right place at the right time.

Also on the show is a discussion of the absolute destruction Atlanta wreaked on Houston to earn their first World Series title since the 90s.

Sports Content Specialist Julian Edlow

Started in the game as a beat writer and doing a draft column for WEI in Boston. Going to practices and all games can be exhausting and luckily Julian started to do some freelance work for DraftKings. As sportsbooks started to develop across the United States DK had a need for content and Julian was ready and waiting, the rest is history.

Now host of Unreasonable Odds Podcast and analyst for @DKSportsbook and @DKLive Julian has his beat on lock. This year is the first year he is all in on the sportsbook side of things and so far it’s paying dividends as more and more states are legalizing sports betting.

Tune into @UnreasonableOdd for all your DraftKings Sportsbook and DFS needs. Also available on the DraftKings channel on YouTube.

Atlanta Braves Win World Series

In a game that lasted over 3 hours and 22 minutes, the Atlanta Braves crushed the Houston Astros. The final score of 7-0 may look one-sided but doesn’t even come close to describing the gutting that took place. The Braves became the most improbable world champions in baseball history with only their second World Series win since the move from Milwaukee in 1966.

The title is the first the city has had in major sports league championships since 2018 when Atlanta United won the MLS cup. The win won’t go down without an asterisk beside it, however. The “Tomahawk Chop” still exists today which is mind-blowing for many watching on television.

Bill and Jon chop it up as the MLB season comes to an end and we look forward to an interesting offseason before getting back underway in March 2022.

NFL Trade Deadline, COVID Bench & LA Rams All In, Again…

The guys had a lot to talk about when it came to the NFL this week.

Aaron Rodgers is benched due to COVID and will not play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The Packers are on a seven-game winning streak and are tied for the best record in the NFC with the Rams and Cardinals.

The news isn’t much better for the Giants with Saquon Barkley also testing positive. Barkley is vaccinated, meaning he’ll need to be both asymptomatic and show two negative tests within 24 hours to play on Sunday. Barkley is coming off an ankle injury and hasn’t played since the Giants Week 5 loss to the Cowboys. Only playing in seven of New York’s last 24 games, we’re itching to see him at full health and back to his regular ways as an RB1.

Right before the trade deadline, we saw the Rams make a huge move that created waves across the league. Von Miller is suiting up with a defense that already has Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey. It’s as deadly as it sounds. The Rams “all-in” mentality is on full display again. They are going to be very exciting to watch but will it pay off for them? We like how it looks on paper but only time will tell.

Odell Beckham Jr has now been excused from practice with the Browns and told to stay at home. If the Browns decide to waive OBJ, where would he end up? Struggling to find chemistry and where he fits in with Cleveland’s run-heavy offense. If Odell ends up on a team with an elite QB will we see him return to the old ways that took over NFL headlines? We say bring back the old OBJ! #FreeOBJ
