BATE Borisov and Dinamo Brest Game Odds

In what will be the 29th final of the Belarus Cup – which is a difficult, 12-month competition – we will see either BATE or Dinamo Brest named the champions.

BATE are the clear favorites and their recent six-match unbeaten form has come with an absolute stifling of their oppositions’ attack. Dinamo Brest can put up a good fight, but their defensive issues are likely to haunt them.

BATE Borisov’s road to the Belarus Cup Final has, frankly, been quite a walk in the pard for them. They opened the round of 32 with a 5-2 win over Sputnik Rechitsa, then an even more impressive 8-1 win against Torpedo Minsk in the round of 16.

The dominated Dinamo Minsk in the quarter-final with a 5-3 win on aggregate over two matches. After losing to Slavia Mozyr in the semi-final, BATE made up the difference in the second leg 2-0.

BATE are regular Vysheyshaya Liga Champions and it is a testament to their club, coaching, and players. They are relentless in the attack, evidenced by them having three players in the top ten goal-scoring list for the Premier League.

Dinamo Brest are in the Premier League, but it by no means guaranteed that they would have an easy path to the final. They faced fellow Premier League club, Ruh Brest, in the first round, which they won by a narrow 1-0. By the round of 16, where Dinamo Brest faced FC Minsk, a 3-1 home win seemed to seal their confidence moving forward.

However, a very difficult quarter-final against Isloch awaited them. After what was two goalless draws, plus extra time, Dinamo Brest took the matchup via a 5-3 penalty victory. What succeeded that match up was a goal-fest of a semi-final against Shakhtar Soligorsk. Dinamo Brest ended up winning the matchup 4-4, with their progression based on away goals.

Dinamo Brest are certainly not afraid of regular Belarusian Premier League Champions BATE Borisov. But they will have to be methodical in this matchup. They’ve given up a number of leads before due to their overcommitment on the attacking side. After a mid-week loss, a more conservative Dinamo Brest is expected.

What’s At Stake

  • BATE Borisov and Dinamo Brest have met a staggering 58 times in their clubs’ respective histories. BATE have dominated the matchup with 41 wins to Dinamo Brest’s 11.
  • BATE lead the all-time goal matchup 104 to 41.
  • Dinamo Brest lost their recent mid-week matchup against BATE Borisov 1-3.
  • It should go without saying, the winners of this match will be Belarusian Cup Champions!

Players to Watch

BATE Borisov – #8 (MID) Stanislav Dragun

Odds taken from DraftKings Sportsbook

Stanislav Dragun – Player Props vs Dinamo Brest Odds
Player to Score +255
Player to Score Multiple Goals +1800

Stanislav Dragun has been absolutely brilliant for BATE Borisov this season. He appeared in nine matches and been subbed off only three times. In his nine appearances, he’s contributed four goals.

Dragun has shown tenacity going forward and finishing in the box, or real composure when taking penalties. Dragun’s intensity in the midfield has won BATE matches as he controls the point of attack.

He was the first scorer of the game in their mid-week meeting against Dinamo Brest. He’ll be hungry for more, knowing he’s already taken one from his opponents.

Dinamo Brest – #51 (ATT) Denis Laptev

Odds taken from DraftKings Sportsbook

Denis Laptev – Player Props vs BATE Borisov Odds
Player to Score +255
Player to Score Multiple Goals +1800

Denis Laptev is one of Dinamo Brest’s most effective attacking players. The tricky attacking midfielder has shown excellent control on the ball and a hunger when facing goal.

Laptev has gained many of his goals in part due to the constant pressure he puts on defenses. While he is pressing defenders, he forces opponents into some surprising mistakes.

In order for Dinamo Brest to win this final, Laptev will have to be engaged from the start. His frustration was apparent late in their mid-week loss to BATE Borisov. Should that be a motivator for him, he could be the difference-maker in this matchup with BATE Borisov.
