Both BATE Borisov and FC Slutsk have gotten off to tremendous starts in the first two months of the season. BATE have been the more efficient attacking side, but FC Slutsk has shown a more conservative and effective tactical plan with a focus on defensive consistency. Despite both clubs and their excellent form, we give the edge to BATE Borisov who has been on a better goal-scoring run.

You’d almost be forgiven if you forgot that BATE Borisov lost their first two league matches of the season. Since then they’ve been in excellent form, due to a solid defensive backline and efficient possession-based play.
Their recent form puts them in great position against one of the best teams in the league. Since drawing with Torpedo BelAZ, BATE Borisov won four matches in a row and have scored ten goals between them. This is all on top of their excellent play in the Belarusian Cup where they will face Dinamo Brest in the final.
BATE Borisov will be desperate to win the league this season, considering they are the most successful club in the history of the Belarusian Premier League. Despite scoring five goals against Smolevichy-STI in their last match, BATE will have to deal with an FC Slutsk defense that has not let more than two past them this season.

FC Slutsk enters this match with as many wins as BATE Borisov has on this season. While their style of play hasn’t been as dynamic as BATE’s so far, their discipline in defense is what has carried them to their fantastic record.
Vitaly Popov has put together a fantastic run on the season, with impressive wins over Shakhtyor Soligorsk, Dinamo Minsk, and Belshina. They are unfortunately coming off of a disappointing loss to Energetyk-BGU in their most recent match.
Despite being a generally strong defensive side so far this season, FC Slutsk were undone in their last match due to two grave errors in the box. After conceding twice by penalty, they will be sure to tighten the screws when they face the attacking-adept BATE Borisov.

Maksim Skavysh – Player Props vs FC Slutsk
Player to Score | -120 |
Player to Score Multiple Goals | +475 |
Belarusian forward Maksim Skavysh is the heavy favorite to have a goal-scoring impact in his match against FC Slutsk. Whether he is in the starting xi or playing the role of impact sub, Skavysh has been effective going forward for BATE Borisov.
With the support of able midfielders Stansilav Dragun and Dmitri Baga behind him, Skavysh has shown efficiency finishing as well as in his hold up play to keep his teammates involved.
Skavysh will be the focal point against FC Slutsk’s disciplined defensive backline. If he can get on the board early, as he did in BATE’s drubbing of Smolevichy-STI, it could be another high-scoring affair for BATE Borisov.

Umar Bala – Player Props vs BATE Borisov
Player to Score | +525 |
First Goal Scorer | +1500 |
Umar Bala has a fantastic conversion rate for FC Slutsk so far this season. With four goals in seven games, Bala has been fantastic playing in the midfield for FC Slutsk. Regularly deployed as a defender, Bala has shown promise going forward as a midfielder and finisher.
Bala will be crucial on the counterattack for FC Slutsk in this match, as they are likely to sustain constant pressure from BATE Borisov for 90 minutes. Bala’s willingness to get into the box has made the difference for FC Slutsk in a number of matches.
While he isn’t favored in player props very well, he is an excellent underdog to score a goal considering he has been asked by manager Vitaly Popov to be more involved in the attack.
