The Cy Young and MVP award market is in full swing. The best players in the league are the most profitable to bet on when looking at overs on player props. Today, we have identified one pitcher with a lot of value in his strikeout market.

We’re also looking at two pitchers to come out slow in the first inning of the Pirates vs. Giants game. FanDuel Sportsbook has many great betting markets for player props.

Many bonuses are available on FanDuel through our exclusive link for new customers. If you bet $5 on FanDuel, you can receive $150 in bonus bets instantly, which is perfect for the weekend.

Best MLB Prop Bets This Weekend: Dodgers vs. Blue Jays (3:07 PM, EST)

Tyler Glasnow Over 7.5 Strikeouts (+122) at FanDuel

Tyler Glasnow has become a different pitcher since arriving in Los Angeles. He was fantastic in Tampa Bay, but the Dodger Blue has electrified his fastball and made his breaking pitches untouchable.

Glasnow is 4-1 with a 2.92 ERA and a 0.95 WHIP. He has fanned 44 batters in 37 innings of work and continues to take his strikeout dominance to a different level every time he toes the rubber.

The pitcher is coming off a ten-strikeout performance against the Washington Nationals, where he threw eight innings. On April 9, he struck out 14 batters in seven innings against the Minnesota Twins.

FanDuel Sportsbook has listed his strikeout total at 7.5 for +122 on Saturday against the Blue Jays. While he has trended under this line, the value on the over is tremendous at +122. He has easily surpassed this line in two of his past three games, and the plus-money mark makes it enticing.

It’s tough to generate swing-and-miss with the Toronto Blue Jays. They have struck out just 188 times this season, which is fourth-best in baseball. However, the Blue Jays have lost four straight games, including getting swept by the Royals.

On Friday, the Dodgers beat them into submission, 12-2, and they didn’t face any dominant pitchers for Los Angeles. Take a chance on the over for Glasnow’s strikeouts.

Best MLB Prop Bets This Weekend: Pirates vs. Giants (9:05 PM, EST)

Each Starting Pitcher 1+ Strikeouts in the First Inning - NO  (-134) at FanDuel

FanDuel has always been one of the best sportsbooks for creating exciting markets. The sportsbook has priced each starting pitcher to not record one strikeout in the first inning of the Pirates vs. Giants game.

Martin Perez will pitch against Jordan Hicks, and for this wager to hit, we can’t have each pitcher sit down a batter. If only one pitcher records a strikeout, the bet will hit.

The -134 price on the no side of the market is relatively surprising because neither Perez nor Hicks are known for their strikeouts. They rely on soft contacts to get outs and aren’t close to throwing one strikeout per inning.

Perez has fanned 23 batters in 28.2 innings. Hicks’ K/9 rate is even worse, as he has struck out 18 batters in 28 innings. Anything can happen with first-inning strikeouts, but we don’t have two dominant wings slated to throw.

Our biggest concern for this game is the Pirates offense. Hicks might not be a strikeout pitcher, but Pittsburgh is a heavy strikeout team. They have fanned 256 times, the fifth worst in Major League Baseball.

The Red Sox lead baseball with 270 strikeouts, so Pittsburgh is near the top of the list. The Giants are much better at not striking out. They rank 16th in baseball.

There are some risk factors, but the indicators still point us to the under for 1+ strikeouts in the first inning.
