There is no arguing that New York and St. Louis have been underperforming on the offensive side of the ball this year. New York has slightly better numbers than St. Louis, but both teams are struggling tremendously to produce runs.
It’s looking like St. Louis is going to have another unsuccessful season this year, as they are currently in last place in the NL Central.
St. Louis is currently hitting .214 as a team, which puts them 28th in Major League Baseball. This game is being played at Busch Stadium, where the Cardinals are hitting even worse at .201.
New York has been in the same boat. They’re hitting .236 on the year, which puts them 19th in the league.
The Cardinals will throw Miles Mikolas, who is 2-4 on the year with a 5.68 ERA. Mikolas has been struggling all year and has not found his normal self on the mound yet.
Mikolas has shown spurts of greatness, but we believe he will get back on track. He is typically a strong starter who fades later in games.
New York is going with Jose Butto on the mound, who is 0-2 despite having a 2.57 ERA. Butto has 31 strikeouts in 28 innings, which is well above the league average.
This is a revenge spot for Butto as he faced the Cardinals on April 26 and gave up four earned runs in 5.2 innings. Watch Butto find the strike zone and limit the walks in this game.
We feel confident with this NRFI because of the cold offenses. Look for Mikolas and Butto to give us a clean first inning to cash this wager.

Two of the best pitchers in Major League Baseball this season, Kutter Crawford and Reynaldo Lopez, will face off on Tuesday. Boston is currently 4.5 games behind Baltimore in the AL East. On the other hand, Atlanta is in second place in the NL East, trailing Philadelphia by three games.
Kutter Crawford has been dominant, with a 2-1 record and a tremendous 1.56 ERA. He has struck out 40 batters in 40.1 innings pitched and a WHIP of just over one.
Reynaldo Lopez has posted similar numbers with a 1.50 ERA in 30 innings while striking out 31 batters. In Lopez’s last three starts, he has averaged six innings pitched with a 1.33 ERA.
Boston is currently hitting .246 as a team, the 10th-best in the league. They’re receiving a ton of production from Jarren Duran, who hitting a team-best .262, and Tyler O’Neil, who has blasted nine home runs.
Atlanta gets most of its production from slugger Marcell Ozuna, who is averaging .306 with ten home runs and 33 RBIs. Ozuna leads the team in all of these categories.
Atlanta is also getting a good contribution from Ozzie Albies, who is hitting .325 at home this year. Even with the superstars on both sides, look for Crawford and Lopez to have a clean first inning.
