The NRFI is one of the most popular bets in all of sports. There is some good value for a couple of these wagers on Thursday in 2024 MLB season.
The first NRFI we’re looking at is in the Washington vs. Atlanta game. The undefeated Trevor Williams will be starting this game for the Nationals.
The second NRFI we’re going with is the Royals and Twins.

Washington takes on Atlanta in a matchup featuring Trevor Williams who is undefeated this season. The Nationals are 24-29 and 12.5 games behind the Phillies in the NL East. The Braves are in second place in this division at 31-21 and currently trail the Phillies by five games.
Trevor Williams has been perfect in 2024 and will take the mound in this game looking to stay perfect. He is 4-0 with a 2.29 ERA.
Williams has struck out 43 batters in 51 innings and has a 1.08 WHIP. He has been striking out more batters and limiting the walks this season.
Atlanta is going with Reynaldo Lopez who is 2-2 with a 1.75 ERA. He has struck out 47 batters in 51.1 innings. In his last 16 innings he has given up four earned runs off 12 hits.
When picking a game for a NRFI wager, it’s important to select two starting pitchers who limit walks and pitch to contact. This matchup is an example of two pitchers who will do just that which is perfect for betting.
Both Williams and Lopez are coming off solid performances last week.
Washington is 24th in the league in team batting average, while Atlanta is in 7th, hitting .251 as a team.
We expect the bats to start slow in this game as both starting pitchers have limited earned runs in 2024.
Bet on 1st Inning Under 0.5 Runs (-118) at FanDuel
The second NRFI bet we like on Thursday is Kansas City and Minnesota. Both of these teams are battling it out in the AL Central.
The Royals are 34-22 in second place, while the Twins are 30-24 right behind the Twins in third place. Three games is all that is separating these two clubs.
Kansas City is starting Brady Singer who is 4-2 with a 2.63 ERA. He has struck out 64 batters in 61.2 innings. Singer is coming off a five inning performance in which he allowed one earned run on four hits.
Minnesota is going with Chris Paddack who is 4-2 with a 4.39 ERA. He has struck out 50 batters in 55.1 innings. In his last two games he has gone 13 innings while giving up four earned runs on seven hits.
The Royals are 8th in team batting average in 2024, while the Twins are 21st at .233. Kansas City has gotten most of their offensive production from veteran leader Salvador Perez who is hitting .322 with nine home runs. Minnesota has relied on Ryan Jeffers who leads the team in average and homers.
A huge part of both of these team’s success has been starting pitching and great run support.
We usually like to stay away from high explosive offensive teams when betting a NRFI, but these two pitchers are almost averaging a strikeout per inning and coming off great starts.
Look for Singer and Paddack to have no issues getting three outs in the first inning, cashing our second NRFI of the day.
