WSN is the place to get the best NBA player props and betting picks every day throughout the 2023-24 NBA season.

The Chicago Bulls needed overtime to escape the Charlotte Hornets, while the Indiana Pacers stayed hot by beating a Boston Celtics team down Jayson Tatum. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers bounced back and beat the Phoenix Suns by 27 points.

Here are our favorite NBA player prop picks for Tuesday.

Best NBA Prop Bets Today January 8

Jalen Duren Double-Double (-140) at FanDuel

The 20-year-old Duren has 16 double-doubles in 21 games played in his sophomore season, including six in seven games since he returned from an injury. He only managed 20 points with five rebounds in his last outing but is one of the game’s best rebounders and will look to get back on track in that department on Tuesday.

The Sacramento Kings are 19th in rebound rate and, aside from Domantas Sabonis, don’t have anyone who’s known for being productive on the glass. Duren will have a nice battle with Sabonis but has done enough already to earn our trust.

Anthony Edwards Over 29.5 Points (-104) at FanDuel

Edwards is in the midst of a scoring frenzy. He averaged 32.3 points over his last 12 games and just put up 36 on 14-27 shooting against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday. He’s also shooting 48.1% from three through four games in January and shot 37.3% from long range in December.

Although the Minnesota Timberwolves are getting a tough defensive matchup in the Orlando Magic (who are fourth in defensive rating), they’re down numerous wings and defensive stoppers such as Jonathan Isaac, Franz Wagner, Gary Harris, and Wendell Carter Jr. Their reduced size and depth should open the paths to the basket for a red-hot Edwards.

Jalen Brunson Over 7.5 Assists (-136) at FanDuel

Brunson only averages 6.4 assists per game but went over this line in three of four games since the Immanuel Quickley and R.J. Barrett for OG Anunoby trade. He also averaged 9.3 assists per game during that time and dished out eight helpers in his last game against the Washington Wizards on Saturday.

The Portland Trail Blazers had to sacrifice some of their defense when their young guards returned to health, and they now rank 19th in defensive rating for the year as a whole. The Knicks are also 10-4 at home, and Brunson should be able to work his magic against an inferior opponent.

Marcus Smart Over 5.5 Assists (+106) at FanDuel

The Memphis Grizzlies were 6-20 without Ja Morant, 7-3 with him, and now they’re without him again for the rest of the year as he tends to a torn labrum. Marcus Smart will take over as the point guard in his absence and should expect to play heavy minutes (38.5 average over his last two games) as a result.

Smart seized his new opportunity by going for 25 points, eight assists, and six rebounds in his first game without Morant on Sunday. He also came close with five assists in Ja’s last game and is much more likely to go over now that he needs to take on more of a playmaking role.

Anthony Davis Over 28.5 Points (-120) at FanDuel

Davis is averaging 30.3 points per game over his last 14 outings dating back to the In-Season Tournament Championship Game against the Indiana Pacers. He also went over this line in two of three games this month and is playing heavy minutes, which gives him a launching pad to go over.

The Los Angeles Lakers are taking on the Toronto Raptors, who are 23rd in defensive rating since trading Anunoby to the Knicks and allow the seventh-best field goal percentage inside of five feet for the season overall. We expect Davis to dominate the interior and stuff the stat sheet as Toronto continues to struggle on defense.
