Miami Must Feed Their Shooters
The return of Jimmy Butler has been a boon to the Heat’s offence and defence. However, his ability to draw attention and act as a playmaker has been beneficial to his teammates and their success.
The Heat, for all of their shooting talent, have struggled from range this season. Ranked 18th in the league in shooting from three, but ninth overall in terms of attempts, they’ll need to overcome Houston’s focused perimeter defence.
Houston are seventh overall in opponent’s three-point field-goal percentage allowed (.356), so Miami will need to work hard to get their shooters open in order to capitalize on their talent.

Houston Should Play on the Break
The Houston Rockets have some capable pieces on their team, able to score on their own or create for others. However, with their current injury issues, Houston might need to rely on their athleticism rather than their halfcourt execution.
In their last match against the Pelicans, a blowout loss, the Rockets showed that they can run with even the most athletic teams. Outscoring the Pelicans 18-11 on the break, the Rockets should be encouraged despite the loss.
Against a Heat team that thrives in the halfcourt, the Rockets should look to beat them with their speed. Christian Wood is not expected to play, so taking advantage of their glut of perimeter players will be priority number one.
Heat Key Player: (G) Tyler Herro

— NBA (@NBA) February 7, 2021
Despite his explosion during last season’s NBA Playoffs, Tyler Herro hasn’t quite lived up to his potential quite yet.
In his last game against the Knicks, Herro took steps toward getting back on track. He scored 15 points and collected seven rebounds, and dished four assists in 35 minutes of play off the bench.
If Herro can open up his playmaking, his scoring will surely follow. As the only true offensive threat off the bench for Miami, Herro will be crucial to their success against Houston.
Rockets Key Player: (G) John Wall

— Ballislife.com (@Ballislife) February 10, 2021
John Wall has struggled with the rehabilitation process involved with his prior Achilles injury, but when he has gotten the opportunity to play he’s been impactful.
In his last match against the New Orleans Pelicans, the Rockets point guard contributed 25 points and six assists. While his efficiency was poor, requiring 23 shots to get his 25 points, he is still a massive threat to the Heat.
Should Wall be able to push the pace and keep the Rockets from facing the Heat’s stout half-court defense, the Rockets could pull off an upset.
