How Can the Nets beat the Kings?

The Brooklyn Nets would like to get back in the win column and earn their 30th victory of the season. When they take on the Sacramento Kings, they must put in a professional effort and get off to a strong start.

In their last game, a loss to the Phoenix Suns, the Brooklyn Nets were outclassed to open the game. They were outscored 39 to 29 in the opening frame, which created a hole they couldn’t dig themselves out of.

Brooklyn simply must create a strong start if they hope to take down the Sacramento Kings. They might be favored in terms of talent, but without a consistent effort their losing streak could continue.

Nets Key Player: (G) Patty Mills

While it can be easy to look no further than the Brooklyn Nets’ star players, their role players can hold equally valuable roles. Patty Mills is one of those key role players, who must produce if Brooklyn want to beat the Kings.

In his last game, a loss to the Phoenix Suns, Patty Mills posted just 9 points on 3 of 8 shooting from the field. He attempted only three-point field goal attempts, owing to Phoenix’s stifling perimeter defence.

Mills needs to be more productive, and also take more shots. One of Brooklyn’s best shooters, Mills must focus on his off-ball movement and be efficient when shooting the ball to help the Nets to a win.

How Can the Kings Beat the Nets?

The Sacramento Kings have now lost 7 straight games, mostly due to their inability to contain their opponents at the point of attack. Against the Brooklyn Nets’ talented backcourt, they can’t afford to be beaten off the dribble.

In their last game, a loss to the New York Knicks, the Kings allowed their opponents to shoot 50% from the field and 37.1% from three-point range. They were able to force 17 turnovers, but that aggression gave up many easy baskets.

The Kings must be slow down the Nets on at least one front if they want to win. Their defensive aggression is good, but they can’t allow it to open up new holes in their defense.

Kings Key Player: (G) Buddy Hield

The Sacramento Kings continue to struggle, now losing their last 7 games. Despite the talent of their young players, the Kings need production out of their veterans. Buddy Hield is the first player that comes to mind.

In his last game, a loss to the New York Knicks, Hield was inefficient to say the least. Hield posted 11 points and 5 rebounds, shooting just 4 of 13 from the field and 3 of 12 from three-point range.

The Kings sixth man has struggled without De’Aaron Fox in the lineup, but it’s no excuse. If Hield can’t provide points from the bench, the Kings will struggle to compete with the Nets offence.
