The Eagles are 1-0, but it wasn’t pretty on the road against the New England Patriots. If not for a pick-six by Darius Slay on Mac Jones, the Eagles could very well be 0-1 right now, and the lines on this game could look different. However, the Vikings are 0-1 after dropping their home opener to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of all teams.
The Vikings had some costly turnovers, but quarterback Kirk Cousins had solid statistics, throwing for 344 yards, completing 75% of his passes, and throwing two touchdowns. He did have one interception, though.
Defensively, the Vikings had trouble generating pressure outside of edge rusher Danielle Hunter. The offensive line was decent against the pass rush and in run blocking, but the Eagles' defensive front is far more imposing than the Buccaneers.
Eagles rookie defensive tackle Jalen Carter was sensational against New England, generating eight pressures and one sack on just 34 pass-rushing snaps.
The Eagles are dealing with injuries in the secondary with safety Reed Blankenship and cornerback James Bradberry, which could open things up more for the Vikings passing attack, but under pressure in Week 1, Cousins struggled, completing just 54.5% of his passes and having one turnover-worthy play, per Pro Football Focus.
Look for the Eagles to win big at home.
