Best NHL Bets Today February 29

Another busy day in the NHL is set for tonight, as there are going to be multiple games that are well worth betting on. These are games that have great value and multiple different areas such as game lines, over/under and puck lines. Get in on the action on the ice and make some money.

Carolina Hurricanes vs. Columbus Blue Jackets

Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook. Bet $5, Get the No-Sweat First Bet up to $1,000, act fast!

My Pick: -1.5 Carolina Hurricanes (CAR)

One of the earliest games of the night is set as the Carolina Hurricanes (35-18-6) go on the road to take on the Columbus Blue Jackets (19-28-10). This is a game that doesn’t possess much potential in game lines but does present value in specialty lines like the over/under or the puck line.

The Hurricanes are feeling great about their chances to contend for an Eastern Conference Finals appearance and the Metropolitan Division by being in second place. Carolina is coming off a 3-2 road win over a dangerous Minnesota Wild team this past Tuesday.

The Blue Jackets are at the bottom of the division despite possessing great talent on their roster. Columbus is currently on one of their best runs of the entire season, as they have won three of the last six games. They are, however, coming off a 4-1 road loss to the New York Rangers the night before.

There is a great chance that the Hurricanes will come into the game against the Blue Jackets and dominate based on the efficiency of each roster member and the rest compared to each other. The Hurricanes are coming into the game with the 12th ranked scoring offense (3.27). Their defense is playing at an elite level by only giving up an average of 2.73 goals per game (sixth in the league).

The Blue Jackets, on the other hand, are one of the most inefficient teams in the league on both ends of the court. Columbus is ranked 22nd in the league in goals per game (2.95), while their defense is allowing an average of 3.67 goals per game (second-worst in the league).

Columbus coming off a difficult loss the night before and playing another elite Eastern Conference team is going to be too much for them to handle.

Vegas Golden Knights vs. Boston Bruins

Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook. Score a No-Sweat Bonus at DraftKings when wagering just $5!

My Pick: Boston Bruins (BOS)

Kicking off the night on this loaded night is a legitimate potential Stanley Cup preview between the Vegas Golden Knights (33-19-7) going on the road to take on the Boston Bruins (34-12-14). This game will be the second matchup in the series between these two teams.

The last time these two teams met on the ice was on January 11, as the Golden Knights took a big 2-1 overtime win at home. It was a scoreless game heading into the third period, as both teams scored a goal in the final period. In overtime, Golden Knights defender Alex Pietrangelo scored within the first 46 seconds to secure the win.

This game has the potential to be another low-scoring game due to the elite units that both the Golden Knights and the Bruins possess. The Golden Knights are ranked ninth in the league in goals allowed per game (2.8), while the Bruins are ranked fourth in the league in points allowed per game (2.7). Both the Bruins and the Golden Knights present some of the best defensive units thanks to elite goalie play.

Offensively, Boston and Vegas are still among the best teams in the league, as this game does possess the potential to be high-scoring. Boston is ranked ninth in the league in goals per game (3.32), while Vegas is ranked 14th in the league in goals per game (3.19).

Boston is coming into this game with the more efficient team on both sides of the ice, but also comes into this game with a three-game losing streak. The Bruins need a big win to get their season back on track.
