My Pick: Ottawa Senators (OTT)
The only game of the night is going to grab the entire league as it is not only the one game of the night, but it has great value in the sports betting industry. The Nashville Predators (26-22-1) will meet the Ottawa Senators (18-25-2) for the first time this season. Nashville is coming into this game as the more complete team and the better overall record, but Ottawa is coming in with the home-court advantage.
This is a game where something has to give in terms of which bad unit will have to push through with a solid performance. The Predators are a team that will not be highly electric and score numerous goals through a series of games. They are a team that is calm and efficient, but not fast. The Predators are ranked 19th in the league in goals per game (2.98).
While the offense of Nashville has been inefficient all season, the defense of Ottawa has been among the worst in the league through most of the season. The Senators have given up an average of 3.67 goals allowed per game, ranked 30th in the league.
One tricky area that the Senators possess in this game, however, is their productivity on the offensive side of the ice. Ottawa is ranked 11th in the league in goals per game (3.33). Center Tim Stutzle has accumulated a team-high 45 points and a team-high 35 assists in this game. Forward Brady Tkachuk has accounted for a team-high 20 goals and 38 points. The Senators have scored four or more goals in five of the last eight games.
