The last game of the night is set as the Seattle Kraken go on the road to take on the San Jose Sharks, the worst team in the league. This matchup will be the second time this season that these divisional rivals will meet on the ice.
The last time these two teams met on the ice, the Kraken dominated the Sharks with a 7-1 score on November 22. Kraken forward Oliver Bjrokstrand was among the biggest stars of the game as he accounted for a goal and three assists against the Sharks’ defense. Forward Eeli Tolvanen scored two goals and added an assist.
This game will feature a matchup of an underwhelming offense of the Kraken taking on the incredibly disappointing defense of the Sharks. The Sharks are ranked 32nd (last) in the NHL in goals allowed per game (3.92) as they possess inefficient talent throughout the ice.
Seattle, on the other hand, possesses great talent to keep the team scoring consistently. The Kraken are ranked 27th in the league in goals per game (2.84). This game should bring the most out of a Kraken team still looking to find their rhythm.
On the other side of the ice, Seattle’s defense has been rising among the most efficient units in the league this month. Seattle’s defense has only allowed an average 2.88 goals per game, 10th in the league. The Kraken will have a huge advantage defensively as they take on the inefficient offense of the Sharks, who only average 2.08 goals per game. San Jose, along with the Chicago Blackhawks, possess the least efficient offense in the league.
If there is one area to trust in this game, it will be the surging defense of the Kraken.
