One of the big betting opportunities for tonight's slate in the NHL is the all-Canadian matchup between the Ottawa Senators and the Toronto Maple Leafs. This is a game that should feature two high-scoring teams taking on two of the least efficient defenses in the league.
Center Auston Matthews has been one of the most explosive players not only for the Maple Leafs, but for the entire NHL. He has accounted for 41 points this season well scoring a league-high 28 goals and accounting for 13 assists. Matthews is accounting for at least two points in the last five games for the Maple Leafs.
His last game play was on December 23rd when he accounted for two goals and one assist in the 4-1 road win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Senators have the 28th-ranked scoring defense in the league (3.55), which gives plenty of opportunity for high-volume players like Matthews to account for huge games.

One game that does not expect you to be a huge matchup in terms of viewership, but will bring in potential opportunities for winnings is the Central divisional matchup between the Winnipeg Jets and the Chicago Blackhawks. The Jets are looking to be one of the more efficient teams in the Western Conference, while the Blackhawks are attempting to build themselves out of the bottom of the league.
This game should be a huge opportunity for Winnipeg to account for significant scoring, as the Jets are ranked 10th in the league in goals per game (3.41). They will take on a Chicago Blackhawks defense that is ranked second to last in goals allowed per game (3.7). Only the San Jose Sharks have a defense worse than the Blackhawks.
Forward Nino Niederreiter is a player who doesn’t get a lot of attention on a loaded Jets team. He is, however, coming off a three-point performance in the Jets’ 5-1 win at home over the Boston Bruins on December 23. He accounted for two goals and one assist against the Bruins. If there is a game where Niederreiter should continue his offensive streak, it will be this game.
