There are two games that have the potential to be a Stanley Cup Finals preview. One of them is set as the Colorado Avalanche go on the road to take on the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Avalanche are coming into this game as surprising underdogs due to their two-game losing streak. One aspect of this is because the Hurricanes are a dangerous team to face on the road.
Colorado is not the same team defensively as they were at the start of the season. Their defense allows an average of 3.12 goals per game (19th in the league). They will have a tough task going against a top-ten scoring offense of the Hurricanes.
In 11 games played, center Sebastian Aho has accounted for 12 points with 10 of them being assists. He is going to be a key player that will take on a talented Avalanche defense.

One of the most underrated matchups going into tonight is the Western versus Eastern Conference matchup between the Calgary Flames and the New Jersey Devils. This game allows the Devils to continue their impressive street without star center Jack Hughes. For the Flames is a chance to continue their impressive streak and make one final push for the postseason.
The Devils, while playing at a high level, is going to find trouble with teams as long as their defense continues to struggle. New Jersey’s defense ranks 29th in the league in goals allowed per game (3.54).
Calgary has been more efficient offensively shortly before the NHL All-Star Break. One player who has stepped up during this time is center Blake Coleman. In the 14 games played in January, Coleman has accounted for 14 points with seven each in goals and assists.
Coleman should easily find his way onto the scoreboard if Calgary’s offense doesn’t flame out similar to their 1-0 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on January 27.
