Toronto Maple Leafs vs. St. Louis Blues

My Pick – Torey Krug to Account for Over 0.5 Points (+120)

The cross-conference matchup between the Toronto Maple Leafs visiting the St. Louis Blues is one of the most underrated games of this excellent slate of games. That is a key reason why it is the first nationally televised game set for today.

The Blues and the Maple Leafs are expected to have a heavy offensive game. While the Blues are going to rely on center Ryan Thomas and forward Jake Neighbours significantly, one player they should get a huge factor into the game is defender Torey Krug.

In the five games after the All-Star Break, Krug has accounted for the second-most points on the team with eight. Granted, five of those points came off assists in the 7-2 win over the Montreal Canadians, but Krug has been a solid factor. He has accounted for a goal or an assist in three of the last five games for St. Louis, including the last two games.

The Maple Leafs possess a defense that is ranked 18th in goals allowed per game (3.15). The Blues are going to attempt different offensive scenarios from the 4-1 road loss to Toronto on February 13, where Krug had one shot attempt. Look for him to play a more pivotal role offensively for the Blues.

Vancouver Canucks vs. Minnesota Wild

My Pick – Elias Pettersson to Account for Over 0.5 Assists (-105)

The matchup between the Vancouver Canucks and the Minnesota Wild is one of the best betting opportunities of the day. While the Canucks are among the top teams in the Western Conference, there is a lot of faith that the Wild are going to make a serious case for an upset at home.

The two early season games between the Wild and the Canucks have been defensive battles, but a lot has changed since those matchups. Vancouver is coming into this game with the third-ranked scoring offense in the league (3.66 goals per game). It will be taking on Minnesota, which is ranked 21st in the league in goals allowed per game (3.22).

In the seven games since the NHL All-Star Break, Canucks star center Elias Pettersson has accounted for eight points, with seven of them coming from assists. He remains the player that Vancouver can rely on the most to set up excellent scoring opportunities against any level of opponent in the league. Pettersson’s capability to get one assist in this game should be one of the best play props to bet on this Monday.

Vegas Golden Knights vs. San Jose Sharks

My Pick – Alex Pietrangelo to Account for Over 0.5 Assists (+114)

The Vegas Golden Knights have been up-and-down this season, as they’ve experienced good winning streaks but have also lost to teams they should have beaten. There is a clear lack of consistency when it comes to the Golden Knights this season.

If there is anything consistent about the Golden Knights in general, they can score a highly productive amount of goals against the San Jose Sharks. In the three games against the Sharks this season, the Golden Knights have outscored them 14-5. It shouldn’t be too surprising, with the Sharks possessing the worst scoring defense in the league, allowing an average of 3.76 goals per game.

In the three games against the Sharks, defender Alex Pietrangelo has accounted for five points, with four of them being assists. He has also been incredibly efficient as a passer after the NHL All-Star Break, with three assists in four games played. Look for him to continue his efficient passing for his teammates to score against a terrible Sharks defense.
