Kicking off the night in the NHL is the cross-conference matchup between the Dallas Stars and the Ottawa Senators. This game has the potential to be a high-scoring game, as both the Stars and the Senators possess some of the most productive offenses in the league.
The Stars have a great opportunity to have one of their best scoring moments within the past few weeks as they take on the poor defense of the Senators. The Stars are ranked first in the NHL in goals per game (3.68) while the Senators’ defense is ranked 30th in goals allowed per game (3.57).
Center Matt Duchene has been the most productive player for the Stars since the NHL All-Star Break concluded. In seven games played, Duchene has accounted for 10 points, with five of them goals and five being assists. He had four consecutive games of accounting for two or more points until the 3-1 loss to the New York Rangers limited the Stars.
Look for Duchene to have a significant performance against a poor Senators’ defense.

It has been a long time coming for the Detroit Red Wings and their fans. The fans have been patiently waiting for 35-year-old veteran and new addition in forward Patrick Kane to start contributing at a consistent level.
In the five games since the NHL All-Star Break, Kane has been playing like the old version of himself. Kane has accounted for seven points, with five of them being assists. He has accounted for a goal or an assist in the last five games for the Red Wings, as they have won three of the five games played against a brutal schedule.
The Red Wings are set to take on the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday in a potentially high-scoring game. The Avalanche’s defense is ranked 19th in the league in goals allowed per game (3.18), as they haven’t been as aggressive or efficient since the start of the season.
If there is a chance the Red Wings can spark an upset tonight, they will need a significant performance from Kane to get the scoring rolling.
