New York Islanders vs. Dallas Stars

My Pick – Matt Duchene to Account for Over 0.5 Points (-135) at DraftKings

The Dallas Stars are among the top-tier teams in the league to get themselves out of a rut. Their top-ranked scoring offense is now ranked fourth in the league (3.61) after five tough performances where they have averaged two goals per game.

Dallas hosts the New York Islanders on Monday night, which should be a game where they should win convincingly. The Islanders are ranked 24th in the league in goals allowed per game (3.35).

In the last three games, the Stars have only scored a total of four goals. Their star players like center Matt Duchene have been limited due to a mental block with the team.

Duchene has accounted for 10 points in the nine games coming out of the NHL All-Star Break, but he hasn’t accounted for a goal or an assist in any of the last three games. In order to ensure that the Stars do not continue this terrible stretch of lack of productivity on the offensive side of the ice, the Stars will need production from players like Duchene.

Los Angeles Kings vs. Edmonton Oilers

My Pick – Connor McDavid to Account for Over 1.5 (-110) at DraftKings

The biggest game of the night will be the divisional matchup between the Edmonton Oilers and the Los Angeles Kings. This game has the potential to be a preview for the Western Conference Finals or a tiebreaker that will help the seeding for the Western Conference playoffs.

The Kings and the Oiler have each won a game in the series this season. The last time these two teams met on the ice, Los Angeles shut out Edmonton with a 4-0 road win. Edmonton is too much of a productive offense to allow themselves to be embarrassed by the same opponent multiple times.

The Oilers are looking for revenge against their rival. Star center Connor McDavid is going to be the player to watch for in this game as he accounted for a goal and an assist in their 3-2 shootout win versus the Kings earlier in the season.

McDavid accounted for 22 points with 21 of them being assists in the 10 games back from the NHL All-Star Break. He has accounted for two or more points in the last four consecutive games as well as six of the last seven games played. Look for McDavid to lead this revenge game for the Oilers.

Boston Bruins vs. Seattle Kraken

My Pick – David Pastrnak to Account for Over 0.5 Assist (-135) at DraftKings

Like the Dallas Stars, the Boston Bruins are also in a tough stretch of games where they have lost more games than they should’ve won. The offense of the Bruins hasn’t been as limited as the Stars,  but they have something to prove, especially to the Seattle Kraken.

The last time that the Bruins and the Kraken faced each other was on February 15, the Kraken stopped 36 of the 37 shot attempts to take a 4-1 win at Boston. Bruins forward David Pastrank was the only player for Boston to score.

For the Bruins to come away with a victory, they will need more players to step up. The Kraken’s defense always attempts to limit the most aggressive offensive player, which in this case is Pastrnak. This game would be a great opportunity for Pastrnak to set up passing opportunities for his teammates to score. Seven of his ten points coming out of the NHL All-Star Break have been from assists.
