Best NHL Prop Bets Today March 19

This Tuesday night in the NHL has a lot more games to watch and potentially bet on compared to the two games on Monday. There are a lot more opportunities to bet on the many bets tonight, including the player props. These player props will be based on the matchup of the opponents being paired up against. The better the performance of some of these star players, the bigger the reward.

Here are our favorite NHL player prop picks for Tuesday.

The following odds are from DraftKings Sportsbook, where NHL Prop Bets can be made. Check out the best NHL bonuses and promo codes for more betting opportunities!

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. New Jersey Devils

It has been a rough second half of the season for the Pittsburgh Penguins, who might have closed their championship window with their veterans and big three. The Penguins are making one last effort to get into the playoffs despite trading their future, including forward Jake Guenztel to the Carolina Hurricanes.

On Sunday, the Penguins got a victory over a playoff-caliber opponent in over a month as they defeated the Detroit Red Wings 6-3 at home. In the game, star center Sidney Crosby accounted for a goal and an assist. It was the first time since he accounted for more than one point in a game since the playoff-caliber wins over the Vancouver Canucks and the Philadelphia Flyers just under a month ago.

This Tuesday night, the Penguins will go on the road to take on the New Jersey Devils, a team that possesses one of the worst defenses in the league. The Devils are ranked 27th in the league in goals allowed per game (3.46). If the Penguins want a chance to get into the playoffs and shed the horrible outlook of their future, they need to rely on Crosby to be their entire offense.

Carolina Hurricanes vs. New York Islanders

Speaking of Jake Guentzel, he has been a stellar addition to a Championship-hungry Stanley Cup Finals Carolina Hurricanes. In four games played for the Hurricanes since being traded from the Pittsburgh Penguins, Guentzel has accounted for five points with four being assists. He has accounted for assists in the Hurricanes’ big wins over the Ottawa Senators, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Florida Panthers.

On Tuesday night, the Hurricanes are set to go on the road to take on the New York Islanders. This game will be another matchup against a playoff-caliber opponent, which will require the star players to play at a high level.

The good news for the Hurricanes is that they are taking on an Islanders’ defense that ranks 22nd in the league in goals allowed per game (3.25). The Hurricanes are coming into this game with the seventh-ranked scoring offense (3.38 goals per game). It shouldn’t be hard for the Hurricanes to find a groove and continue their impressive winning streak.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Vegas Golden Knights

The final game of the night might have the best and riskiest bet as well. The Tampa Bay Lightning go on the road to take on the Vegas Golden Knights in a playoff-level matchup.

This game is going to be a rematch of the 5-4 Lightning win on December 21. In that game, Golden Knights forward Jonathan Marchessault scored two goals.

The Golden Knights have not been overall consistent as they have played great and then lost winnable games. For Marchessault, he didn’t account for a goal or an assist in the games against the New Jersey Devils or the Calgary Flames, but he accumulated five total points in the win over the Seattle Kraken and the Detroit Red Wings.

He is in a rough March session but finished the last four games of February with eight points, including games against the Boston Bruins and two games against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The bigger the game, the more demand that the Golden Knights need from Marchessault.

This game versus the Lightning will be the biggest game of the week for the Golden Knights. It also helps that Tampa Bay’s defense is ranked 24th in the league in goals allowed per game (3.36).
