22-6 | Record | 24-3 |
Going 6-3 as a welterweight to start his UFC career, Strickland is now unbeaten as a middleweight, having won his last five bouts in a row.
His most recent victory came against top-contender Uriah Hall, whom Strickland defeated via five-round unanimous decision last July. He was expected to take on former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold last November but the latter pulled out due to an injury.
Jack Hermansson was riding a middleweight winning streak of his own before losing to Jared Cannonier in 2019. Since then, Hermansson has gone 2-1, having most recently defeated Edmen Shahbazyan via unanimous decision last May.
Hermansson will enter the cage Saturday with a 1.5-inch reach advantage. Strickland is three-years younger and holds a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He is also a former KOTC middleweight champion – a title he defended four times. Strickland is a -215 favorite.
The two fighters are ranked as number-six and number-seven respectively in the middleweight division.

Saturday will mark Nick Maximov’s second fight in the UFC. He made his promotional debut last September, defeating Cody Brundage by unanimous decision – remaining undefeated as a professional.
His opponent Punahele Soriano was undefeated for the first eight fights of his career but suffered his first professional loss in his most recent fight, losing to Brendan Allen via unanimous decision last July.
Nick Maximov trains at the Nick Diaz Academy and will boast a one-inch height advantage and four-inch reach advantage over his opponent.
However, it is Soriano who enters this contest as a -200 favorite.
Shavkat Rakhmonov | TALE OF THE TAPE | Carlston Harris |
27 | Age | 34 |
6 ft. 1 in. | Height | 6 ft. |
77 in. | Reach | 76 in. |
14-0 | Record | 17-4 |
There are great similarities between these two fighters heading into their Saturday night contest. Both men have fought twice for the UFC and both men remain undefeated in the promotion. Both fighters also won both of their fights by stoppage.
Rakhmonov has two submission wins in the UFC and Harris holds a submission win as well as a TKO victory – both first-round finishes.
Rakhmonov has the edge in physical advantages. He is significantly younger than his opponent and has a one-inch advantage in both height and reach. He remains undefeated professionally and thus is the -265 favorite.
Sam Alvey | TALE OF THE TAPE | Phil Dawes |
35 | Age | 33 |
6 ft. 2 in. | Height | 5 ft. 11 in. |
75.5 in. | Reach | 77 in. |
33-16-1, 1 no-contest | Record | 11-3 |
Sam Alvey needs a win. Period.
After losing four in a row (and battling Da Un Jong to a draw) in the light heavyweight division, Alvey made the move back to the middleweight division but went on to lose two more fights – most recently a split-decision loss to Wellington Turman.
Although his fights have been close (three split-decision losses in his last four fights), Alvey simply hasn’t won a fight since June 2018.
Phil Hawes is also entering Saturday night’s fight following a loss (a KO to Chris Curtis) but was enjoying a seven-fight winning streak prior to that defeat.
Alvey brings more fight experience to the table and will stand three-inches taller, but Hawes will have the 1.5-inch reach advantage. Hawes is the most significant favorite on the main card, with FanDuel listing him at -325.
Tresean Gore | TALE OF THE TAPE | Bryan Battle |
27 | Age | 27 |
6 ft. | Height | 6 ft. 1 in. |
N/A | Reach | 77 in. |
3-0 | Record | 6-1 |
It’s a fight we never got to see on the latest season of the Ultimate Fighter. Middleweight Tresean Gore was forced to pull out of the finals with an injury after being pegged as a heavy favorite to win the show. Bryan Battle ultimately went on to win the season.
Since winning the show, Battle has fought once more for the UFC, defeating Gilbert Urbina via rear-naked choke last August.
Now that Gore is healed and ready to return to action, the UFC wasted no time in booking the fight that we never got to see.
These two fighters are the same age and Battle will have a one-inch height advantage. However, it is Tresean Gore who is listed as the -160 favorite.

6 ft. 1 in. | Height | 5 ft. 9 in. |
74.5 in. | Reach | 70 in. |
26-9 | Record | 19-9 |
Both men will enter this contest following wins. Julian Erosa last fought in September 2021 and defeated Charles Jourdain via third-round D’arce choke.
His opponent Steven Peterson last fought in June 2021. He defeated Chase Hooper via unanimous decision. It was his second win in a row but it should be noted that Peterson had missed weight for the bout.
Erosa comes in with the physical advantages here, standing four inches taller and having a 4.5-inch reach advantage. However, Peterson has the edge in grappling, holding a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu/
Erosa currently sits as the -290 favorite.
