Expert Betting Predictions and Best Bets for Norway vs. England
Below are our three top tips for Norway vs. England, including two straight bets and one same game parlay.
Draw
England is the favorite for this all-European tie, but this feels like a game which could go either way. Norway beat Brazil in the round of 16 despite the odds being stacked against it, and it probably prefers being the underdog anyway. Anything Norway achieves from this point on is a bonus, whereas an exit at the quarter-final stage would be a disappointing outcome for England. Given how hard it is to split these two sides, there is a good chance we will need extra time or even a penalty shoot-out to find a winner.
Erling Haaland to Score
This match will be billed as Erling Haaland vs Harry Kane. It is obviously more complex than that, yet it is also true that a game-changing moment from either center-forward has the potential to make the difference in New Jersey. Haaland has scored seven goals so far this summer, with Kane just behind him on six. The Norway frontman is our pick here, not least because he only seems to need one chance to put the ball in the back of the net. In his last 14 games for his country, Haaland has scored a ridiculous 27 goals.
Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals
Norway and England are both better going forward than they are defensively. That is good news for the neutral viewers tuning into Saturday’s showdown at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. The heat in Florida will have an impact on the tempo of play, but we are still likely to see a fair few goals. Both teams have scored in 100 percent of Norway’s matches at this tournament, while all five of its games have featured at least three goals. As for England, there have been over 2.5 goals in three of its five contests up to now.

Norway Betting Preview
Norway’s 2-1 victory over Brazil was undoubtedly the greatest result in the history of its national team. Norway has not lost to the Selecao in five meetings, but this was the first time it defeated Brazil in a World Cup knockout tie. It deserved to win too.
Sure, Brazil missed some golden chances to take the lead, not least when Bruno Guimaraes saw his penalty saved, or when teenage starlet Endrick missed a one-on-one opportunity after a terrific pass from Vinicius Junior.
But Norway dominated possession and outpassed Brazil throughout. That was in part down to Carlo Ancelotti’s tactics (the Brazil boss did not want to give Erling Haaland too much space to run into), but Norway adapted well and it was more ruthless with the chances that came its way.
Stale Solbakken’s side has now won four out of five games at this tournament, and the exception (a 4-1 defeat by France) came after Norway heavily rotated its team having already qualified for the round of 32. It is through to the quarter-finals for the first time ever, but Norway does not want its dream to end here.
England Betting Preview
England had to battle against Mexico in the round of 16, but it found a way through to knock the co-host out. The Three Lions led 2-1 at half-time, but the red card shown to Jarrell Quansah in the second period gave Mexico hope.
England extended its advantage soon after via a Harry Kane penalty, but Mexico scored a spot-kick of its own and then put 10-man England under huge pressure. Thomas Tuchel’s team stood firm, though, and held on for a 3-2 victory which sent it through to the quarter-finals. It was certainly a huge improvement on the 2-1 defeat of DR Congo in the previous round.
Tuchel has long felt that England would improve as the World Cup went on, believing his side is the sort that steps up its game against better opposition. He was proved correct against Mexico, but Saturday’s meeting with Norway is another huge test of England’s credentials.
Tuchel is a top-class coach who made some big decisions when selecting his squad for this World Cup, but so far he has been vindicated. Everything could change with one defeat, but England is growing in confidence as it attempts to win a major tournament on foreign soil for the first time ever.
How Norway and England Match Up Against Each Other
England have the historic head-to-head edge on Norway. It has won seven of the 12 games between the two teams, compared to two victories for the Norwegians. However, that is not a meaningful factor this weekend. Only two of those matches have come in the 21st century, and none of the outfielders that line up in Miami were involved in the most recent meeting in 2014.
Brazil gave Norway the ball last time out, but England will look to be more proactive here. It will have to be wary of Erling Haaland’s runs in behind, though, while Declan Rice will look to shut down his Arsenal team-mate Martin Odegaard in Norway’s midfield.
Norway will be concerned about Jude Bellingham’s runs into the penalty area, and Anthony Gordon will look to stretch the opposition defense out on the left. All things considered, this has the potential to be a thoroughly entertaining affair.
