Leeds Keeper makes fun of Liverpool with Giant Beach Balls
Published by adam | Filed under Football (aka soccer), Miscellaneous
Classic creativity and PR move by Leeds keeper and sponsors.

Leeds United keeper Shane Higgs shows Liverpool’s Pepe Reina how to use beach balls to your advantage.
However, according to FIFA Rules, the goal should NOT have counted. The rulebook states that if an object on the field interferes with the play of the ball, stop the game and have a drop ball scenario. Somewhere in there, I would advise removing the object from the field. Reina admits his mistake, but let’s be honest, it was not his fault.

Rival fans have begun to pick at the situation on websites and blogs across the internet. Apparently, Liverpool beach ball sales have skyrocketed, with rival fans snatching them up off the Liverpool website. The beach balls are now believed to be sold out.
I can’t imagine the number of beach balls thrown onto the pitch in the coming weeks. I have a feeling Anfield will be littered with these things.
